Friends, Maybe More

Chapter 3

We drove in silence for a long time until he turned into the zoo entrance for the safari.  (where you drive in your own car and feed the animals)  I guess he had already waited in line for the food before he picked me up because he took his backpack that was in the back seat and pulled out some containers with the names of the different types of animals so we knew which one to feed which.  

We pulled into the dirt road and their were no other cars except for ours.  

"I rented out the whole place for the hour because I thought we would get a lot of time with the animals alone." Harry said

I knew he had a lot of money but this place costs so much money for just one loop around the safari.

"Oh my Harry you didn't have to do all this for me." I said

"Oh I wanted too.  I knew that you love animals so I thought I would do something special for you."  He said smiling.

"Thanks Harry I really do love animals and you really made this special because I have never done something like this before."  I said so happily.

He handed me a container with the word "giraffe" on it.  I took it from his hand and almost immediately a giraffe came up to the side of the car.  

The car window was closed but apparently the giraffe didn't know that so the giraffe bonked his head right on the window.

Harry laughed at first but then noticed that I wasn't laughing at all so he stopped.

"Woops." He said trying to hold in his laugh.

"Harry, that poor animal.  Please roll down the window now.  He wants some food."  I said 

"Sure, I'm sorry Katie I really didn't mean to do that on purpose." He said while rolling down the window.
