Takes place when Maya is 16 and Josh is 19. They're not together yet but they're playing the long game
Maya: *sitting at Topanga's with Riley and the gang laughing at something Zay said*
Josh: *walks in and notices Maya is sitting next to Zay and frowns* hey kiddies!
Maya: *laughing at Zay's joke not noticing Josh walked in*
Riley: *smiles* hey Uncle Josh!
Josh: *walks to the counter and sits down pouting*
Topanga: *sees an upset Josh* what's wrong Josh? I've never seen you this sad.
Josh: Maya is sitting next to Zay and she was so busy laughing at his joke she didn't even notice I walked in *frowns*
Topanga: and you were expecting the usual Maya reaction to your presence: a giddy girl running and jumping on you *smiles*
Josh: I know I told her to live her life and not to stop her life waiting for me. But I guess I didn't expect to see it with my own eyes *looks at Maya and Zay sadly*
Topanga: you're jealous *smirks*
Josh: *looks shocked* what?
Topanga: you're jealous that she's not sitting next to you laughing at your jokes. Want my honest opinion? Go over there and start your someday. Cory and Shawn can get over it. You love her. Go get her.
Josh: you're right. Thanks Topanga! *walks over to Maya* I need to talk to you.
Maya: *looks and sees Josh* Josh! When did you get here?
Josh: I've been here for a while. I need to talk to you *grabs her hand and walks outside*
Maya: *smiles at him holding her hand* what's up Josh?
Josh: *smiles* I want to start our someday right now.
Maya: *smiles* what changed your mind?
Josh: I saw you and Zay and I got jealous. I want to be the one making you laugh *bites his lip*
Maya: *hugs him* there's nothing going on between me and Zay. I only like one guy.
Josh: *pulls away* oh. Who? *frowns*
Maya: *laughs* you silly! I have liked you for years Boing! *kisses his cheek*
Josh: you missed babe *kisses her*
Maya: *kisses back* boyfriend and girlfriend right now?
Josh: definitely *grabs her hand*
Topanga: *watches through the window* I guess all he needed to make a move was a dose of jealousy *smiles*
