Chapter 8
Kennet opened her closet to pick something comfortable to wear for training. She gasped when she saw what was hanging front and center. It was a tight black leather jumpsuit like the kind spies would wear. A pair of sunglasses were on the hanger. A pair of leather combat boots sat beneath it. Next to it hung a black t-shirt with leather jacket over it. It was paired with a black pair of jeans. A bigger pair of men's combat boots sat beneath it. A pair of sunglasses rested on the collar of the t-shirt.
"Whoa, when did you have time to buy training outfits?" Keith walked up behind her and kissed her head.
"I didn't. I just opened the closet and they were there." Kennet said, puzzled.
They heard a scream ring through the house. They ran into the kitchen to see a startled Jade laying on the floor. They ran over and helped her sit up. She looked up and then slid back and stared. They heard footsteps pounding on the basement stairs and then the door flew open and Kyle ran into the room. He went immediately to Jade and helped her up. That's when they became aware of the ex-spidat.
She was sitting on the bar with a smirk on her face watching the whole scene. She was surprisingly beautiful. She was pale and slim. She had long brown hair that was pulled up in a ponytail. She hopped off the counter and stood taller than Kyle who was the tallest of the four. She was wearing black sweatpants and a camoflauge t-shirt. She put her hand on her hips and a smirk on her red lips. Her brown eyes sparkled in the morning light. But what surprised Kennet the most was the fact that she had no wings.
"So I understand that the women here are the royal twins." She said with attitude. "My name is Meg. Well it is now. It didn't used to be Meg, it used to be Kuma but when I abandoned the Spider King, I abandoned my name given to me, I abandoned my family, and I abandoned my skin. Literally, I used to have black skin. I know, ew, right. When I took the oath that swore my loyalty to your mother, she gave me white skin. That was the best day of my life. Your mother gave me a task. A task which I shall keep." Her voice was deep but still feminine. She walked over so she was standing right in front of them.
"I'm Kennet. This is my husband, Keith. This is Jade and her husband Kyle." Kennet said motioning to each one of them.
"Kennet and Jade, that's what your mother named you." Meg had tears in her eyes.
"Sometimes the universe is funny like that. Would you like something to eat?" Kennet said as she got out a frying pan. She reached into the fridge and pulled out a bag of bacon and got pancake mix from the pantry.
"Ooh, yes please." she said, sitting at the table. Jade and Kyle sat down with her and talked while Kennet and Keith worked in the kitchen and a half hour later, hot pancakes and bacon were on the table.
When they were done with breakfast, Meg went out into the woods to scope out a training area.
"I brought you some combat outfits that can also be used for training. My position in the warrior army required sorcery so magic is threaded into the clothes. A little needle at the wrist will shoot the magic into your bloodstream. It will help you master magic faster. Now go change and wait for me to come back." Meg had said before she left. "Oh and they automatically clean themselves after you take them off. Today we are doing combat lessons so just wear the special sweats I got you."
Kennet walked into the bedroom and took the combat suit down and laid it on the bed. Behind it was black sweatpants and a camoflauge t-shirt just like Meg's. She took those down and put the combat suit back up. She slid the sweatpants on, thinking they would be to big, but they conformed to her body. She put the shirt on and it did the same so that it was loose but not to big. She put her long brown hair up into a bun so it wouldn't stick to her neck if she sweat. She heard Keith walk in so she turned around to see him staring at her.
"What's the matter, do you like the view?" she asked, doing a little swish with her hips.
"Oh, you better believe it." he pulled her towards him and kissed her deeply. She rested her hands on his chest and gave in to the kiss. When he pulled back from the kiss she laid her head on his chest and they stood there for a couple of moments.
"Babe, I have to get dressed." he whispered. She reluctantly pulled away and sat on the bed. She tried really hard not to stare at his washboard abs when he pulled his shirt over his head. She laid her head back and closed her eyes. She opened them suddenly when Keith picked her up and held her. He dipped her down and kissed her. Then he walked out into the kitchen with her in his arms.
"Look at the happy couple." Jade said from her seat at the bar.
Keith dropped her feet but kept a firm grip around her waist. The door opened by Jade and Meg walked in.
"Let's go. I need a lift."
They all walked out side. The guys grabbed Meg around the arms and took to the air. The unhappy girls followed. Meg steered them towards a clearing and they landed there. Around the edge of the clearing were different combat machines.
Sending their wives' jealousy, the first thing the guys did when they landed, was stand by their wives and wrap their arms around their waists.
"Hey, do we have to wear pants, 'cause it's like 90 out here and I'm already sweating." Jade fanned herself dramatically.
"The sweatpants change to your wishes. If you want them to be shorts, they will change." Meg said with a smile.
Kennet wished her pants to change to capris and they did.
I think I like that better than pants. Kennet shivered when she felt his hand brush her back then settle back on her waist. She glared at him and that only made his smile bigger.
"The first thing for today will be fighting with a sword." Meg pulled four swords out of the barrel behind her.
They were pirate style with the slightly bent blade and curved handle with a hand guard that goes over the fingers. Two of them had swirls in the hand guards. The hand guards were also dotted sapphires. The other two had hand guards with snowflake designs and were dotted with emeralds.
When Meg handed her and Keith the ones with the sapphires and Jade Kyle the ones with the emeralds, she realized they were made to match their wing patterns and necklaces.
"Your mother had them made just for you and your soulmates." Meg explained. "Hold the sword in front of you and close your eyes." Meg stood in front of each one of them and pressed the dull side of the sword to their foreheads for a moment. "Open your eyes. It helps to become one with your sword. That makes it easier in a fight. When fighting with a sword, the best way to learn is in your own way. You will fight and develop as you fight. Kennet with right Kyle and Keith will fight Jade. Get in positions and go."
Kennet swung at Kyle but he blocked her. They spent that entire day fighting with swords.
