A long way home {a Shawn Mendes fanfiction}

<Ashley's POV>
Another week passes by and I kind of feel better. Even if I don't, I'm going back to school anyways. Great, Camila will be really happy to see I'm back. Not.
Shawn asked me if I want to go to school together and I agreed so I won't have to go with the bus, in which Camila probably will be. Karen's car is parked on the side of the road. I cross the road and Shawn opens the car door. I get in the car and Shawn sits next to me. He looks really nice. He has ripped black jeans, a black t-shirt and a black bomber jacket on it. I had my black heels on, light jeans and a black crop top with the text "badgirl" on it. I had applied red lipstick on my lips and gave my eyelashes some more volume with my Xtra volume Mascara. My hair was tied up in a messy pony tail and I had small, white pearl earrings in. We arrived at school and a bad feeling raised up to my stomach. Camila is there shit. Where can I go. I look up at Shawn and whisper "She's there" and try to walk away. But instead of walking away I feel someone holding me back. I try to get out of the hands. I can't. I look behind me. I hope to see Shawn that was trying to hold me back. But I see Shawn standing behind the person that's holding me. I also see Camila, behind Shawn. At least it's not her. I start focussing on the person who holds my waist. Harshly. Cameron?! "Uh Cameron what are you doing?"

Cameron laughs "I wanted to say sorry. I rushed into you last week. I'm sorry"  his face is now serious "are you okay?" I smile, while nodding "yes, I'm fine. Thanks" Cameron comes really close to my face. "NO!" Shawn rushes towards us and pushes Cameron away. Cameron looks confused. And I give Shawn an angry look. He agreed. Not telling others that we're together. And no. He's not telling them that we are together but still. "Stop Cameron" Shawn says. Cameron hugs Shawn "
great bro. Looks like you have a crush on someone!" He whistles this you-are-sexy whistle and walks away.

"Shawn?!" Camila walks up to Shawn. "so, you two are like... a thing?" She laughs. Then gives me a hateful look. "but we need to talk" she look back at Shawn "we" I smile. "I will leave you two alone then." I walk away. I walk in the hall. Not knowing where to go. So I just walk until I hear a voice behind me "Hey Ash..ley" like he wasn't sure if he could call me by my nickname. I turn around and see Nash. I'm overwhelmed by his clear, blue, shining eyes. "uhm hi?" I know who he is, he's in some of my classes and he had talked to me once. But we haven't really had an actual conversation yet. "how are you?" I ask him "I'm fine! But I heard you have been at home for a week? Why?" "oh, I had an illness, and when Cameron rushed into me I passed out and had to stay home for a week." I said, laughing because is actually sounds a bit stupid. "oh, I hope you are okay?" he asks "yeah, I am thanks". "Wanna hang out after school?" Nash asks "yeah sure, is Shawn coming?" I ask. "Uh not yet, but you can ask him". I nod "okay see you!".
He looks really nice to me. I think we could become friends.

I walk to my next class and see Shawn sitting next to Camila. I roll my eyes and he gives me a guilty look. "Ashley!" I look behind me and there is Cameron. "Hi Cam" I say while I sit myself down on a chair, Cameron sits next to me. "Are you going to te skatepark with Nash after school? Nash said he would ask you. "Oh yeah, he asked me. I'm going, are you?"
I see Shawn looking at me, kind of mad, when I look back he quickly looks away. "Yes I am, Selena and Justin are going too"
I nod "cool, I will ask Shawn, be right back".
I stand up and head over to Shawn's desk "will you go to the skatepark after school, with Nash, Cameron, Selena, Justin and me?" Shawn smiles "yeah ofcourse"
I walk away when I feel a hand grabbing my arm. I turn around and see Camila looking at me "are you going to ask me yet or not?"
I look over at Shawn. No, he won't help me. "Uh yeah sure" I mumble "wanna come?"
"No, and Shawn isn't either"
I'm so done with this girl "he is"
Shawn nods "yeah, Camila, I don't know what you're saying, but I'm going. You don't choose whether I'm going or not. Sorry." I head back to my desk and the teacher starts "Welcome in my English class, open you books on page 118. I whisper to Cameron "why is Camila so mean to me?"
Cameron writes down something in his notebook and then whispers back "she is jealous because of you and Shawn. She has been chasing Shawn for over a year." I give him a confused look "and she doesn't get that Shawn doesn't want her?"
Cameron looks at Camila, obviously flirting with Shawn "nope."

The schoolday ends and I walk up to Shawn. "Shawn" he turns around "yes?"
"Are you ready?"

"For?"

"We're going to the skatepark, remember?"

He smiles "yeah I know"

"Okay so hurry a bit"

"Yes ma'am" he says
I laugh. Why is he so weird.
"No jokes. Hurry" I try to hold back my laughter. Nope. Didn't succeed.

10 minutes later Shawn finally went to his locker and grabbed his jacket. We go outside where Nash, Cameron and Justin are already waiting. We're only waiting for Selena now.

Justin looks at me "so, after your Cameron accident. Are you okay?"
I smile "yes I am. Also. I'm not blaming Cam though" Cameron laughs "still, I'm sorry"
We wait a bit and then Selena shows up. She kisses Justin and greets all of us "hey everyone" we greet her back and walk to the skate park which is about a 10 minute walk away.
