Hide and Seek

Lucy's Pov:

That bastard, I'm going to get him for even laying his hands on my nakama. This is why I need to learn the spells. Gomenasai everyone but I need them to save him. He always has to protect me and I need to return the favour. Wait. Why would Zeref want Natsu? I don't understand.

I pulled the books out of my bag and got out my fast reading glasses, taking in every spell that I was capable of. Mastering what I could in the little time I had. Perfecting technique and the amount of my magic power used each time the spell is performed.

"Lushe, you're not supposed to be reading those." Happy uttered sadly.

"I know Happy but I need to save Natsu, I promise I'll bring him back to us." I said. "We first need to find where he is? Think you could fly us around the outskirts of the capital for any clues?" I asked.

Happy nodded in return before we packed our things and I changed back into my previous outfit. We payed the nice lady at the inn before Happy took off into the skies holding me by my top. We looked down at all the little people below us and tried to spot Natsu and Zeref. Nothing.

Natsu's Pov:

My head was pounding as I sat up, gazing around the cell. Rusty shackles contained my limbs and prevented my movement around the prison. Everything was dark, the only light peeking through a door down the corridor. I searched for someone else but alas I was alone. Lucy and Happy better be okay. I sat in silence as the door creaked open. Flooding the prison in light from the outside. Zeref chuckled as he examined my features, stepping towards the door of my cell.

"What do you want from me, I'm not your precious demon END and I never will be." I gritted. Anger coursing through me.

"You're so oblivious brother, so Etherious Natsu Dragneel (END) what are you going to do now?" He spoke cockily.

"You're lying and I'm going to find my friends, I won't let you hurt them anymore for your sick games!"

"Heartfilia! She's dead, I watched her die as I carried you away , she was in my way, her death brings me and my demons happiness." He spoke emotionlessly.

"SHES NOT GONE! HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT! LET ME OUTTA THESE CHAINS! GRR ZEREF!" I thrashed around in my cell trying to escape the chains that bound my wrists and ankles.

Zeref clicked his tongue as he calmly stepped away from the cell, this time slamming the door blocking all light. Tears fall from my eyes 'please they can't be gone.' I mutter to myself for reassurance. As what I believed was night crept on, I became fatigued and desperate for rest, as my head dropped I fell into a deep sleep. As silence filled the world around me.

Happy's Pov:

We flew around the outskirts of Crocus looking for whatever clues we could find however Crocus was massive and soon my magic would become depleted. Before I heard Zeref call Natsu END like the book Lucy has, maybe I should tell her but he might be lying.

"Lushe, do you know who END is?" I asked timidly.

"He is Zerefs strongest demon, claiming to have no weaknesses and be able to kill anyone." Lucy muttered still concentrated on locating Natsu.

"Before you blacked out, Zeref called Natsu END." I whimpered in despair.

"Don't worry Happy, Natsu has never been a demon has he, he's our lovable Natsu. We can read about END after we've saved Natsu if you like?" She asked.

I nodded my head to answer as we continued to fly around the city. Night was approaching though and my speed had dropped significantly.

"You can stop now Happy, sorry for pushing you." Lushe apologised as I carried us down.

"It's okay Lushe for Natsu." I beamed a smile at Lucy which she happily returned as we landed in a meadow near the cliff edge.

"Guess we need to find an inn Happy." Lucy sighed.

"Yeah but with what money Lushe we didn't expect the job to take this long." I sadly replied. She sighed aswell laying her head down on the grass beside me.

"Sleep on my stomach Happy, no point us both sleeping on the floor." Lucy spoke. I lay my head down as she places her head on her bag. Staring up at the night sky together we cuddle. Bringing me the comfort that I desired missing my best friend. I, of course knew they were in love with one another but waited for them to work it out for themselves. After my occasional teasing though. I deeply cared for both of them knowing we made a little family and they were always so happy around eachother. Come on Natsu stop playing hide and seek and just help us find you.
