Erza's pov:
"They've been gone days now they can't just disappear like that, we need to go and see if they're okay Gray." I spoke.
"Flame breath can handle it can't he?" Gray uttered confidently.
"But what about what's happening with Zerefs demons, like on our last mission. I'm going whether you do or not?!" I demanded.
"Tch. Fine but if you're wrong I get a piece of strawberry cake." Gray smirked. Bastard wants my true love.
"Uhhh." I complained "fine!"
Wendy approached us and decided to tag along as we set off outside the guild. Mirajane informed us of their job request so we walked towards the train station. Everything seemed a lot quieter on the walk there without Lucy, Natsu and Happy with us. At least he won't have motion sickness on the train.
The train pulled into the station as we boarded it and set off towards our destination. Crocus. It'll be nice to see the capital again, maybe I can go armour shopping.

As we pulled into Crocus it was a really warm day. Also a busy one since this is the capital. We pushed through the crowds before coming across an open area.
"Wendy can you smell Natsu or Lucy?" Gray asked.
"Errmmm I can faintly smell Lucy-san but not Natsu." Wendy spoke quietly.
"Why would Natsu leave Lucy, that's not normal? What about Happy?" I pondered.
"It smells like he's close with Lucy-San. I'll find them, follow me." Wendy said determined.
We walked through the town passing all buildings while Wendy walked ahead along with Carla. Gray looked more worried then before knowing they were separated. He actually does care for the pink headed dragon slayer.
We walked through the market square and looked around. It was about noon as we had set off quite early. Wendy directed us towards a small forest on the outskirts of the city. We walked along the field before spotting two of our nakama laid in the grass.
"LUCY, HAPPY!" We shouted and dashed towards them.
Lucy's POV:
A loud shout woke me up from my sleep as I protectively grabbed Happy while he held onto me. I groggily sat up and open my eyes to see a familiar red head, ice mage and small dragon slayer sprinting towards us.
"Carla!" Happy jumped up excitedly.
They stopped in front of me examining me before holding out a hand for me to grab. Once I was on my feet, questions were thrown at me. I looked down knowing what I had to tell them. Yet I don't know for definite why he is gone myself.
"Natsu has been captured by Zeref and I can't find him. I'm scared, what if he's gone?! I'm so useless!" I cried falling into Grays hug.
"Come on Lucy that flame idiot isn't going to go down without a fight and you've never been useless Lucy." Gray persuaded.
"Aye sir." I muttered sadly but shone an enthusiastic grin.
We got up and starting looking around for Wendy to try to pick up on his scent. He might not be in Crocus anymore? He may not even be in Fiore anymore? But we couldn't stop looking. I miss him so much.
We had already looked over most of the city and outskirts and found nothing.
"Maybe we should cross the forest?" Happy suggested.
"Yeah I think that's a good idea." Ezra spoke.
We changed course and headed towards the forests surrounding the city. Stepping inside, slight rays of sunshine blasting through the tress. Giving at least a little light for the path we were venturing on. I walked alongside Wendy at the front looking around for a clue that might direct us to Natsu. Trying to find his scent.
The daylight slowly drifted away as night time dawned upon us while we continued our walk through the forest. But I didn't want to stop, I need to find him. I may be tired but my will is going to push me forward.
Ezra suggested setting camp for the night, while the others agreed. They knew I didn't want to but knew I needed rest. I sighed and sat down along with our gear. Everyone talked to one another before slowly drifting off to sleep. Happy laid on my stomach while I petted him gaining the occasional purr of happiness.
I could walk a little further or look a bit longer, it couldn't hurt. Plus I can't sleep. I gently placed Happy on Erzas bag before grabbing my own and setting off further into the forest. I promise Natsu I will find you.
Time skip
I continued to walk while the sunrise appeared grazing the land with red and orange light. I walked a lot further then I meant to. I only wanted a look and I ended up trying to find him. A clearing came up ahead as I strolled towards it. The remains of a small village lurked inside the open field, mountains lining at the back. The houses looked burnt? And purposely ripped apart. I stepped inside what seemed like an entrance to the village and gazed around. Rubble aligned the path I walked down. Passing each house and glimpsing inside.
My gaze turned towards the mountainside where I saw a dark house looming over the small village. Maybe this was the place or maybe it's in one of these houses. I stepped into the first one I saw to be met with completely rotted corpses, down to the bones. Tears filled my eyes as I turned away, leaving the ruined home. In that state, whatever happened must've occurred a long time ago.
I came to the edge of the small village and decided to investigate the one on the mountainside. It's dark persona sent chills down my spine as I observed it for movement. A steep path led towards the houses entrance, as I began to walk the cobbled surface. Little did I know I was stepping into a nightmare.
