I skipped up a flight of stairs to see what amazing art could be awaiting me. i got to the top of the stairs to see a huge room filled with paintings and sculptures all around.
I saw a man with light, purple hair and a tattered coat. He was blocking this one painting that I couldn't see, so I figured I'd come back later and look at it. I continued on my way.
I walked through the crowded room and saw three black statues of headless women, all wearing a different colored dress. One wore red, one wore yellow, and the other wore blue. Ahead of that, I saw what appeared to be a big, white, fluffy couch. It had white and red string-like designs intertwining with each other to decorate the backrest. I looked at the plaque which read, "Reserved Seat".
I continued on to the paintings. Unfortunately, some of the titles I couldn't read. The words were too big for me to understand. I passed a painting of what looked like an eye and one of a black cat. There was a weird, big, blue statue next to those, and a sculpture that looked like wind chimes. There was even one of this big, pink, ball of sorts.
Hmm... I thought to myself. I wonder what inspired Guertena to make all of this stuff.
I passed a painting, that caught my eye. "The Lady in Red" I read aloud. Hmm... a woman dressed in red, with piercing red eyes, and long, tangled brown hair.
The art was amazing, but I was getting kind of restless. I'd been here for maybe a few hours now, though, it could've just seemed like that. I decided to try and find my parents now.
I walked along the halls of the big room and found a huge mural in a big, golden frame! It was beautiful! The way the colors all spread together to create a world behind a frame was almost awe-inspiring. Even to a child such as myself. I looked down at the plaque and read it carefully. "??? World".
More big words. I thought. I don't know what it says. Hmm, well, I guess I'll ask mom once I find her.
I continued walking. Without warning, the lights began flickering. That was weird. I thought. I kept walking. As I began back down the stairs, it occurred to me... It wasn't crowded anymore. I looked around. In fact, I didn't see anyone at all.
I got scared for a moment. Where was everyone!?!?
I took a deep breath. Okay, Ib... I said to myself calmly. It's okay. You just have to find mom and dad, and you'll be fine. Maybe it's just closing hours.
I got to the bottom of the stairs. Even the receptionist was gone! My parents were no where to be seen. I started freaking out. Okay, clam down, Ib. Maybe they're in the car waiting for you. You know they wouldn't leave without you.
Suddenly, the lights turned off completely. I was alone, in an art gallery, in the dark. How could this get any worse?!?!
I shouldn't have asked myself that.
