Part 25 - Empty Painting

I walked back to the room with the big, back eyes. I had begun calling it the cat room by now, because it looked like cat's eyes. I looked at the fish-shaped hole in the wall.

Now, I had both the fish head, and fish tail. I stuck both pieces into the hole and it worked as a key.

I heard a loud meow and watched as the black cat eyes turned to red slits. Suddenly, a secret path was revealed, leading straight ahead of me.

I took a breath, and walked down the long narrow hallway. It led to yet another hallway, and the first thing that caught my eye was a painting of a smiling mouth with a long, red tongue, and red eyes.

It spit out at me! I figured I should probably avoid it... next to the spitting painting though, was what appeared to be an empty painting. I walked over towards it, stepping over the spit. When I looked closer, there was a little, red 9 in the center.

Hmm... I should probably remember this... I thought.

Alright, so two pathways. One straight ahead, and one to the right... Which one should I take?
