I walked to the front door and tried to open it, but it was locked. Either that, or the big wooden doors were too heavy for me. What was going on!?!
I tried to calm myself down. I decided to try and find another exit around the gallery. Maybe there was a back entrance. I frantically started looking through the gallery in the dark.
I saw this one painting I hadn't looked at before. Instead of being on the wall though, it was on the ground. How peculiar... I looked at it closer, but it was hard to see in the dark. It seemed to be some sort of big monster in the ocean.
I read the plaque,"??? of the Deep. A world where man will never stand... To ??? that world, I decided that I would ??? it within the canvas." There were some more words I didn't know.
Once again, I continued looking for an exit. If I couldn't find one, I just might have to wait here all night. That idea scared me. Some of these sculptures and paintings looked quite scary in the dark. I had to get out of here! I couldn't wait here all night for someone to find me!
I passed a statue of a big red rose that I hadn't seen. It was beautiful. I stopped to look at it. It's beauty had entranced me, and I couldn't stop staring at it. I read the plaque which said, "??? of Spirit. Beautiful at a glance, but if you get too close, it will ??? pain. It can only bloom in ??? bodies.
I looked back at it. It's red petals looked so soft though, that I barely noticed it's sharp thorns. I wanted to touch it, but the rope surrounding the sculpture blocked me from reaching...
Achoo!!! I whipped my head around when I heard a sneeze. But... I was the only one here. My head looked all around until I glanced at a painting near the statue of the rose. Okay, this was getting creepy. I quickly continued along to try and find an exit.
I passed more paintings, and more statues, but I found no exit. This was getting ridiculous. Maybe I should just find a nice corner and curl up for the night. If I sleep then at least I won't be conscious during my fear.
I began walking further down the hall and saw a window. I headed toward it to look outside, when suddenly, I saw a shadow pass the window outside! I backed up quickly into the wall behind me. How... how was that possible? I was on the second story.
I neared the window and looked outside. There wasn't a fire escape, so there was no way a person could've passed the window. Maybe I was just going insane being in the dark gallery all by myself.
I started to walk away when- BANG BANG BANG!!!
It sounded like someone had just banged on the window!!! I was definitely going insane. I was scared. Really scared. I wanted my parents. I wished they were here with me now. If they were here, they'd protect me, and tell me everything's okay.
I took a deep breath. It's okay. Everything's okay, Ib. You have to be brave, for mom and dad. I calmed my trembling body, and decided to get as far away from that window as possible.
I walked farther into the gallery, when I came across an area I recognized! Okay, so maybe I wasn't going insane thinking the gallery had changed. It's the same gallery, and now I know where to go.
I walked past more paintings, then - SPLAT!!!
I turned around to see a piece of fruit lying on the ground underneath a picture. I looked up to the painting, to see a bowl of fruit, but a piece was missing. I looked back to the fruit on the ground. Okay, this was getting to be too much for me... I didn't know how much more I could take.
I started running. I had to get out of this crazy gallery! I ran and ran, not even bothering to see where I was going. I felt lost, and afraid, and confused. What was going on here!?!?
I stopped, completely out of breath. I collapsed on the ground, on the brink of tears. No, Ib. Don't cry... You have to be strong.
I looked up to see the huge mural. I stood up and walked over to it. It was truly a beautiful piece of work. I smiled slightly. I could do this. I could make it through the night. A little darkness can't hurt me.
I studied the painting further, when I noticed something. There was a blue liquid leaking from behind the frame. Huh, that's weird... I thought to myself. I reached out to touch it, but then heard what sounded like heavy footprints behind me.
I turned around, and saw big, upside down letters on the ground. What? What... is this? I backed up to the other wall to make the red letters right side up, and read what it spelled out. "C-O-M-E-I-B" I whispered softly. "Come... Ib..." Okay, this is really getting out of hand...
I looked back to the mural. The blue liquid had also begun to spell something out. I stepped closer and saw what it said. come down below ib ill show you someplace secret. Huh? What does this mean?
I began hurriedly walking to the other room. I didn't know what to do anymore... When I arrived in the other room, I saw something even more peculiar. The painting on the ground, "??? of the Deep", had blue footprints leading into it. The rope had been removed.
I was curious about everything going on. Maybe... this is where I was supposed to go? Maybe this is what the blue letters meant. The blue footprints did match the blue ink after all. Well, I didn't see any better ideas... I stepped into the painting.
