Damon and I explained we could not stay that it would put his parents and his self in danger..That we would stay in touch as soon as we could. That we would always be thinking of him. Damon told him we have to go and make sure the people who are making the zombies don't get away with it.
I thought he looked so sad and I thought he was going to cry. I pulled him into a hug and kissed him, as he wrapped his little arms around my neck. I was ready to cry and Damon had tears. Then I stepped away so Damon could have his turn. Damon hugged him tight and Damon told him you should go back to sleep now. Robert turned to go and said "I Love You" both so much and thank you. I will miss you.
Then we told him again we will be back to see you as soon as possible. Now try to let your parents stay asleep for a couple of more hours and then wake them up. So he turned and went to his room and we shut the door. But we could hear him crying and it tore us both up. Damon and I sat there for a while and we cried.
We had our guns handy and off we went. We had to get to the check point and it would take maybe three hours. We had plenty of gas and we had food. So we went in search of a diner and had breakfast. But we found out we had no money.
Then when I was laughing I was interrupted by shattering glass falling on my head. I reached out for Damon's hand as I pushed his head down and told him to keep it that way. I lost control of the car and a loud crash was heard. There was twisting of metal and a pop of my airbag popped. As I slipped into unconsciousness.
