Angel stopped dead in her tracks.  What should she say how do you tell a child his parents are probably dead.  She knew she had to tell the boy but this was hard.  He is just a child she thought.  How will he be able to handle it?  Then Damon asked if he wanted something to eat.  Anything but to have to tell him something like this.  He did not answer so Damon took him to see what they could find.  Angel went to get some drinks.

The boy found Angel with Damon beside him.  The boy went to the freezers -of course it had to be the one with ice cream.  Then he asked Damon about pirates.  Damon said there are none.  Then the kid wanted to know then why can't I go home?  Then Damon asked do you want a sandwich.  Like maybe turkey.  The kid said I guess do you have anything to put on it and Damon said yes I do.  Then Damon gave him some tea to go with it.

He was gave the sandwich and Angel had called him a kid and he said I am not a kid.  He ate the sandwich and then he asked "why can't I go home".

Angel got tired of hearing it and said " because the zombies will get you".  Damon shouted at Angel as he rushed her to the other room.  As they entered the room Angel said we can not keep hiding it from him.  He has to know.  But Damon was angry and did not want to hear it.  Just to spring it on him like that.  Damon said we do not know for sure his parents are dead.  Angel said that may be true but we do not know that they are not either.

She said I know this bothers you and I know you think I have no heart but I just think it is better if he knows.  Damon came and wrapped his arms around her and she just stood there and wished there was something she and he could do for the kid to make it better.

They knew his parents was probably infected.  But they also knew they had to be as kind as they could with this.  But they also knew they could not give him false hope.  After all this was his family they had to tell him about.
