Chapter 23: Withering Away

(Ghost POV)

I was in a wheelchair. I was paralysed and I could move. I heard some music playing and it was the Scissor Sisters I Can't Decide. I heard the door open and in came Derp singing at the top of his lungs pushing me around.

"It's not easy having yourself a good time
Greasing up those bets and betters

With that he pushed me down stairs and I felt every pain and was now lying sobbing at the bottom of the stairs. I couldn't move. I'm useless.

I heard Derp sending Bane down and I heard the clock of a revolver and then I heard a black and all I seen was blackness.

(Toast's POV)

I was sitting in my quarters watching the news when I felt a pain in my heart like it had just been crushed." Ghost!?" I whispered out and I knew. He was no more. I burst through my door and ran to the bridge.

"We need to go to Jupiter..NOW!!" What for." I seen the Spartan walk out of his quarters and was now standing in front of me. I burst down in tears and fell to my knees." He's gone. My partner is gone." I kept crying into my hands.

I felt the ship jump through light speed and arrive at Jupiter." WHO AUTHORISED THAT JUMP!?!" I did." I looked up to see a man in a jump suit with weapons on his back a grappling hook on his arm.

"You ok?" He asked putting his hand out." Yeah."

"DON'T EVER JUMP WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AGAIN RICO!!!" OR WHAT!? YOU GONNA CAST ME OUT OF THE AIR LOCK JUST LIKE YOU DID WITH YOUR TEAM!!!" DON'T EVER BRING THAT UP!!!" WELL IT'S TRUE!! YOU JUST A COLD HEART, SELFISH OLD BASTARD OF A FUCKING MAN!!"

I watched as Rico punched the Spartan in the mask and heard a shatter noise and his whole mask visor smashed and I seen his blue eyes. He had rage on his face.

Rico lifted me and put me in a ship and we flew towards Jupiters surface. When we got there I showed him were the door was and we walked in and we split up and looked around but Rico gave me a radio so we could stay in contact.

I went to the basement of the place and I lifted out my torch and at the bottom of the stairs was Ghost." GHOST!!" I grabbed him and seen that he was bleeding from the chest and I checked for a pulse and I found one but it was faint.

I lifted my radio and spoke into it." RICO!? RICO COME IN!?!" Yes? What is it?" I found him! His pulse is faint but it's there!" Right I'm coming to you. Were are you?" The basement. HURRY!"

"Why are you in such a hurry?" The voice I heard was devilish but it wasn't Derp it was a man." Who are?" It doesn't matter who we are. All that matters is what we will do." I heard the door slam closed and felt someone grab me and toss me across the room.

I lifted my torch up to see a man with a shaved head and a mask on covering his mouth and nose." Please. Don't hurt me." I said." Don't worry we army gonna hurt you." (Sigh) thank you sir!" Were gonna KILL you!" He said with a bit of joy in there. He tossed me again and time I hit the post and I felt someone else lift me.

I looked at him and he looked like he was in his teens and he had ginger hair but the front was died red. His voice was crackly and high. He had a mechanical arm and leg.

"Welcome to the pain room." He tossed me into a wall and I was starting to feel myself slipping. A man walked out of a corner and when I looked at him it was Maxwell. He snapped his fingers and stopped time.

"Did he screw you over too?" What?" Did Derp throw you down he just like Ghost?" No, I came down here looking for him. Why are you here?" Well. One minute I'm Derp's best man then the next thing I knew. He locks me in the basement and the walls are ghost proof so I can't just float out."

He snapped his fingers again and I heard the basement door burst open and I heard gunshots and bombs going off. I seen Bane and the man make a run for it and I don't know why.

"We need to move......"It was Rico and he looked at me. Maxwell snapped his fingers again." Listen. I'll help you get Ghost out of here only if you let me take control of him for a few days." Why do you want to possess him?" I just need him so I could regain my energy and if you let me stay in there I can make Ghost walk again. So? Have we a deal?"

I looked at his hand that was held out towards me." Fine. We have a deal." I said shaking his hand." Whew. Thank god my hand started to hurt." I watched as he walked over to Ghost and faded into him.

Time unfroze again and I seen Rico talking again."...... Olympus Mons has started to level this place." WHAT!?" We need to go....NOW!!" I got up and so did Ghost and we all ran for the front door. We opened it and seen our only means of transport being stole by Bane and the other man." FUCK!!" Screamed Rico. We ran faster away from the explosion behind us and we all were knocked off our feet and I watched as Rico got hit in the back by a piece of shrapnel and his suit ripped and was now leaking O2.

What do we do now?...........
