"I swear Josh, if it involves fighting invisible penguins at the zoo..." I grinded my teeth together, remembering a distant conversation we'd had days ago.
"No Addie, I swear this time I really need you're help!"
"Ugh..." What could he possible need help with... "What is it?"
"Well..." I could feel him grinning through the phone. "You see...um. I kind of really want to come visit you... because well...I just really miss you."
"And you want to come visit me...with Rokkit, huh?" I said nonchalantly. "Just like last time?"
"No," He said stiffly. "I just really miss talking to you."
"Sure, when are you coming over then?"
I didn't really want him to come over, but I wasn't a cold hearted person. Sure, I may've seemed like I can't make up my mind with Rokkit, but lets be honest, what kind of teen knows exactly what they want? After seeing those pictures of Rokkit with Cleo, I honestly didn't want to see his face. I felt bad and guilty, and upset at the same time.
What is wrong with me?
I could hear Josh giggling like a little girl like he always did when he got excited.
"Open up the door! I'm freezing my butt out here!" I stopped mid step and looked up at my house. From the park I could see my house and two dark figures standing outside of it.
Fuck.
"Who is with you, Josh?"
"No one why?"
"Seriously, I can see you talking on the phone and standing next to someone..."
He turned in my direction and grinned cheekily.
"Well..." He clicked on me and shoved the phone in his pocket. I did the same and walked towards him. As I neared my home I could see Josh next to Cameron. I guessed that Cam must've gotten suspicious when he saw Josh roaming around.
"This kid was looking for you. I thought he was kind of shady looking so I kinda kept an eye on him."
Cam dismissed himself from us and headed inside. I'd of loved it if he was my older brother while I was growing up, Tori was pretty lucky to have a brother like him.
I nodded and turned to Josh.
"It's nice to see you again." I smiled.
"Nice to see you too, can we head inside? It's kind of chilly."
"Of course."
We walked inside where Cam had turned on the heater for us. "
"Thanks Cam," I shouted into the house. A quiet 'No prob' could be heard.
"He's a keeper," Josh bobbed his head up and down.
"He's a good kid, better than I thought he would be," he whispered to himself. "Anyways, I came to tell you that I feel like there has been a lot of tension put on you guys because of the spotlight on Rokkit, and I feel to blame."
"Why'd you feel like it's your fault? You haven't really been around us..."
"I don't know, but whatever! I came because I want you to go get dressed in pretty clothes 'cause I'm here to be your fairy godmother for the night!"
I rolled my eyes.
"I have to work tomorrow, I'm trying to get my life back on track, sir." I leaned against a chair in the living room.
"I've already talked to Trevor, Blondie, and Ms. Magazine about it."
I frowned. I knew that he had plans to set me up with Rokkit again. Why doesn't he understand that it's just not meant to be between us. My life has been nothing but pure chaos since they came into it.
