I slam the laptop shut in front of Max’s face without warning. His blue eyes convey his true emotions; anger and sorrow. For the first time in weeks, he is actually venting to Rokkit, or anyone for that matter, how he feels. I feel selfish for having to take it away from him.
“Adele!” He yells at me, venom dripping in his voice as I snatched my laptop away. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t want you talking to Rokkit anymore.” I reach out under my bed to pull out my laptop case. It is old, black leather one my dad had gotten me for my seventeenth birthday. It isn’t something I truly treasure, but everything my father has given me means a lot to me now.
Max fumbles with his words, clearly not comprehending why I said that.
“You want me to talk to someone, but when I finally find someone I feel comfortable around, you don’t want me anywhere near them! How is that?” Its sounds like I’m getting scolded from a parent.
“I just don’t.” I say sternly. Max freezes up in front of me and just walks out the door like nothing ever happened.
I sigh and pace around my room, slowly wondering why Rokkit was in the picture with Cleo. He hasn’t told me about the interview they were supposed to have in order to introduce her. Or maybe it has already happened and he didn’t tell me to spare my feelings.
I take a huge sigh of relief, thinking that he probably didn’t tell me to spare my feelings. Yeah, that’s probably it. A small smile crosses my lips, but it fades just as quickly as it came. My phone vibrates slowly, signaling that I have just received a text message. It doesn’t take a genius to know who it’s from.
Rokkit’s name flashes in big red letters. I decide not to read it, so I just let it pass. A couple minutes later, he sends me another message. My phone continues flashing on and off until about an hour later when Rokkit finally gives up and stops sending me messages.
I’m tempted to check the messages but I decide to call Josh and ask him what he means by not believing the gossip.
I quickly dial in his number and he answers on the fourth ring.
“Addie, I’m guessing you found out about the article?” I could hear the teasing in his voice.
“No duh.” I mumble. “Why was your last message all blurry? You had me scared, thinking that you had been kidnapped.”
“I had a bad reception when I did that, so of course some words were sounded out. But that’s not what I’m here to explain.”
He takes a brief pause and…laughs?
“Dude…what are you laughing about?” Is he taking this as a joke? Does he honestly believe I’m an idiot to have fallen for Rokkit?”
“Cut it out!” I snap. He stops laughing abruptly and sighs.
“Chill, Addie. Alright, I’m not going to beat around the bush and make up a bunch of bologna to spare your feelings.” My heart is beating at a thousand beats a minute. I had a feeling he was going to tell me Rokkit never felt anything for me, and it was all a lie.
“Uh huh.” I whisper.
“Rokkit and Cleo are only together for the publicity it will create; with the fact the media doesn’t know your dating him. So it will just create this big scandal and it will only make Rocket Ship to the Moon even more famous.” Josh begins to laugh again, and it irritates me. “I bet you I had you scared there!”
I immediately feel even worse for having cut off Max from having someone to talk to.
“Shut up.” I mumble. “Who was the wise guy behind this?” I’m clearly going to have to speak with him about it.
“Mason.” Josh says simply. “Him and Lance, the producer, are buddy buddies so….yeah.”
“Where you guys at?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, where are you guys at?” I said sternly. I wasn’t going to let some guy ruin my relationship with Rokkit.
“New York, but we’ll be back in California in two weeks for a couple of photo-shoots. You can talk to Mason and Lance then.”
“Thank you.”
You know, now that I look at it, Josh and I have become really close. Even though I never intended for it happen like that. Just like with Max. I never planned on getting him involved with my personal love life, but it just happened. And I’m happy for it having turned out like this. It makes my life worthwhile.

Eh…I don’t like this chapter, but I felt like I needed to update (Don't chew me out beccause there are errors in it and I acknowledge them, I also understand this is rushed and the dialogue is kind of stiff.)
-_- I keep forgetting that I have to write for this…
But\cha can’t blame me. I have a ton of stuff to do for school since graduation is coming up real soon... Idk when the next episode will be, hopefully soon.
