Chapter 6
Jaydon POV:
"So, what did she say?" I asked Cae while spinning my football in my hands. My phone was currently wedged between my ear and shoulder.
"Grace said that she'd come and that she would ask the rest of the the girls." Caleb sounded annoyed.
"Don't tell me you're pissed because she kicked you out of her room." I heard him scoff from the other side of the line.
"No! What..." Caleb's voice went noticeably higher. Ha, the dude was so whipped. I shook my head, I didn't think I was in any position to talk considering that I was kind of a mopey idiot before Lauren and I started going out. Now that we WERE going out, I was basically a lovesick puppy.
"Whatever, don't you have anything better to do than harass me?" He was secretly hoping that I would keep talking to me.
"I know you love me Cae but we need boundaries. There's a line that I definitely don't wanna cross." I mocked.
"You little shit! I'm not gay, even I was, why would I go for you?" He exclaimed.
"Who wouldn't want some of me, I'm tall, dark and handsome." I said while posing even thought he couldn't see me.
"Yeah, like a baboon. You've got all the access hair and all." Caleb teased. I shook my head in despair, some people had no taste. Caleb groaned in exasperation.
"I refuse to carry on this ridiculous conversation anymore. Goodbye!" Then he hung up. I yelled into the dial tone;
"Stupid tone, go mysteriously fall off a cliff!" That made no sense. Great, now I'm arguing with my bloody conscience. Just bloody brilliant. Ok, so I still needed to call up Lauren and ask her about tomorrow. Her number was first in my most 'used contacts' list. She answered after two rings.
"Hi Jay!" As soon as the words left her mouth, I knew something was wrong. She may have said it with enthusiasm but she sounded fake because her voice was was high.
"Hey, are you ok?" I enquired, making my voice as quiet and soft as possible.
"Nothing, I'm fine." And there we have it folks, the classic answer all girls give when they want to hide there to feelings. She was clearly lying because it would push her away from me and in the end, it would do more harm than good.
"Ok. Just remember, I'm here whenever you want to talk." I couldn't help but smile, it was the thought of being one of the people that Lauren would confide her secrets in that put me in a smiling mood.
"So, are you gonna come to the park with the guys, Grace and I tomorrow?" My body was brimming with excitement, the park has the best fish and chips place. I know what your thinking, typical guy; only thinking about his stomach. Well, if you'd actually try it, you would think that you just took a bite out of heaven. Ok, so off topic.
"Yeah, I'm coming. Any excuse to watch my boyfriend shoot some hoops." She giggled adorably. At least she's gone back to her normal self again.
"Well, I should go otherwise I'll never be able to wake up in time for tomorrow. Night, love you." Lauren rushed out in a hurry. Beeeeep. God, she was the second person to hang up on me in a single day.
"Right back at ya!" I yelled into my phone before throwing it onto my bean bag. Don't judge, it wasn't a wall. With a deep sigh, I changed out of my shirt so was sleeping in my shorts only. I didn't get people who only slept in their boxers. I mean, what would happen in the cold winter? Erggh, gross. That's what I get for thinking. I lifted the duvet up and snuggled down under the sheet. Let's say the only thing on my bed that night was Lauren and her problem... And fish and chips.
