Today is the day. We have been in Austria for five days and now it's time for the Olympics. We got up about four in the morning and headed to the big area where the Olympics was being held. Our leotards were on and our hair was in a neat hair do. Would I walk out with a gold medal?

When we entered the gym, it felt like Antarctica in there. I decided to keep the leggings over my leotard on for now. Today I was going to be on national television and I would either fail or win. I didn't want to be known as the failure.

Paige walked towards me showing no fear. "Nervous?" She asked me. "Nervous doesn't even describe what I'm feeling right now!" I said. She laughed and said, "don't be nervous it's not gonna help anything." I smiled and walked over to

I started by warming up with beam. I bounced on the spring board and did my front ariel onto the beam. (This trick was really hard and you had to do it perfect in order for it to work.) My foot slipped to the side and I fell of the beam onto my back. This happened a few times intill I landed just right. I wobbled a bit after the front ariel but I kept going. Back handspring, back ariel, needle into front walkover, arm and leg movements, "EVERYONE PLEASE MEET ME AT THE FLOOR!" Our coach Valorie called. I jumped off the beam and ran across the huge room.

Everyone competing today was now in the gym. Some girls were from the U.K. , Japan, Russia, and Italy.

Our coach gave us some warm up drills. I started with lemon squeezers. 38....39...40. I laid on the floor and regained my breath. I moved on to push-ups. They went by in a breeze. Then I did as many backhand springs as I could, 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10.11.12.13.14.15.16.17.18.19.20.21.22.23.24.25.26. I fell down as the whole world spun around me. I felt sick.

1 hour passed and the camera crew was getting ready to film. One by one, my butterfly's flew back into my stomach. I walked with my team to the bars. We lined up with the camera facing towards us. The arena was now crowded with people.

A guy started to call people's names. Tadashi from Japan. The first girl in line saluted. Everyone cheered. Nadia from Russia. She did the same thing as the first girl and everyone cheered. Evelyn from the U.K. She raised her arms smiled, and faced the other way doing the same thing. Laura from the U.S.A. I saluted and everyone cheered louder than they had for anyone. They introduced all of my teammates and they got the same loudness of cheers that I got. I was first on the bars. I waited intill they said, representing U.S.A! Everyone was cheering saying, GO LAURA!

I jumped onto the high bar. Handstand, pike, straddle, let go, catch, handstand, straddle, swing, jump to low bar, flip back onto high bar, giant, giant, flip, stick it.
Everyone cheered one again and I walked towards my coach she gave me a hug and said, PERFECT.

Vault was next. I ran into my Yurchenko and landed with a slight step back. Now, it was time for beam. I did my front ariel on, backhand spring, back ariel, needle into front walkover, arm and leg movements, scissor leap, Onodi, more arm and leg movements, and freeze. This time my coach told me, A LITTLE WOBBLE AFTER YOUR AREIL BUT, GOOD. I smiled and walked to my bag getting my water bottle out. Paige did her routine, and so did everyone else. The last event was floor. It was finally my turn. I was last on floor.

My routine was perfect. I stuck the landing. Cheers filled the room. I felt really happy as I walked off the floor.

The announcer lined us up on the mat. I stood at the top of the podium. I couldn't believe this. Paige was on the second highest and the girl from Russia was on the third. I had won!!!!!! He put the gold medal around my neck. The cameras where all pointed towards me. I smiled and held the gold medal up to my face. I could hear lots of cameras clicking.

             *2 days later*
I checked all of my social medias. One particular comment stood out.
Oh my goodness, who else was like so happy for Laura!! Anyways, I believe that she is totally ON THE WAY TO FAME!!!! #ONTHEWAYTOFAME.
