It's Our Anniversary!

"10 years of being together. She never asked for nothing. I think she deserves some type of trip. You two haven't been outside of La since you had Janette. You two need some type of excitement." Keith's mother said wiping her hands on a towel near by.

Today marks 10 years Keith and his wife Jareese have been together. 5 years of dating, 5years of marriage. After college, they both got married and two years later, they welcomed a baby girl Janette Monae. Since she arrived, the couple barely had time to do anything by themselves. Everything was always with the three of them. Even on anniversaries and birthdays.

But this time, Keith wanted just the two of them to be alone. He just didn't know what to do.

"But what do I do to make it more exciting?" He asked her.

"Take her to where you two had your first date or something. You always want to make sure that your anniversary is better than the year before. Don't be so repetitive. Anniversaries are supposed to be special and intimate. Make another baby, hell Janette needs somebody to play with Kevin isn't bringing in any Babies." She said pointing to the living room.

Keith chuckled shaking his head.

"Did you forget we met in college?" Keith stated.

"And?" She said.

"All the way in Florida." He stated once more.

"So?" She said as a matter of factly. "That'll be the perfect trip. Go get away!" She said waving her hand and fixing her robe afterwards.

Keith sat back in his chair and rubbed his goatee.

"I'll watch 'nette if that's what's holding you back. You go take Jareese out for a while."

Keith was gonna take his Mom up on that offer. He wanted to make this night as special as possible.

Jareese on the other hand was getting tired of "celebrating" her anniversary. Every year was the same old same old. Dinner with Keith after Janette went to bed and then watch movies until he goes to sleep in her lap and the next morning they would have wild amazing sex (which was something she never got tired of).

This year she wanted something else. To actually go somewhere and enjoy her husband's company!

She was so tired of him bringing home roses that had lost their scent because they were outside all day as he had been at work until 11:30 at night. She was so tired of him having to warm up his dinner because he was late coming home. She wanted different.

"Baby you okay?" Her grandmother asked her sitting down.

"Yeah, grams I'm fine. I'm just thinking."

"I hope everything is okay. Keith isn't acting up is he?" She asked.

"No, gramma. It's just that- our anniversary is coming up and we don't have any plans. Usually, I would be to tell when he's planning something or trying to surprise me, but he has nothing. I'm tired of the same old tradition we do every year. We need something different." She sighed.
