"Spot!" Laila pouted as the dog she and Keith shared kept jumping on her every chance she got.
She had spent all day getting ready for her dinner date tonight with her boyfriend Keith.
He was taking her on a date because she hadn't been able to really enjoy herself since she moved from New York.
The long distance was killing Keith and he tried everything he could to get her to move with him to Cali and she finally gave in. This was also a welcome to Cali dinner.
Keith also wanted to surprise her with something but he didn't know how exactly to surprise her.
He didn't have a lot of ladies in his life to get help from but he did have a very close friend. His best friend Jordyn.
Him and Jordyn had been tight since elementary school and they never switched up.
She helped him make sure this surprise was everything he wanted to be.
But Keith was picky. So she had to make sure she had more than one idea for him to choose from.
"Jordyn, I need this to be memorable." He stressed.
"Keith, how can you not remember how you got engaged?" She rolled her eyes.
"I don't want her to find out."
"Well look. I feel like you should do something real cute like put it in her cupcake or something." She smiled.
"No. She greedy as hell. She'll swallow the whole thing and then we'll have to go to the hospital."
"Well at least she'll still be surprised and she will always remember it. It could be a great story to tell your kids and your grandchildren and it might even be on a new episode of that show The Untold Stories of The ER. That show used to be my shit." She said going in her refrigerator.
He shook his head. "No. I don't even know why I asked you." He said eating frustrated.
"I don't either. I gave you an idea already. The idea was to write a Spanish note. To her tie and it on the back of Spot. But you're so picky you don't even like that." She said walking back into her living room.
"That's basic."
"No. Basic is just giving her some long ass speech about how much she means to you and calling her whole name out and asking her to marry you. You want extravagant. Now use the damn dog like I said. Don't mess this up Keith. I really like her." Jordyn said.
"Aight. Thanks for the help." He sighed.
"No problem. Now get the fuck off my phone. You spent 4 hours stressing me out about a damn idea I know yo high-yella ass ain't even gone use."
Keith laughed at her joke and the accuracy of it.
"Bye, Jord. I love you." He said.
"I love you too Keith."
They hung up and Keith threw his head back on the headrest of his car seat.
