"Baby, you need to come and eat something." She said standing in the door.

He didn't look up, he kept looking around for some papers, but his attention was hers.

"I don't have time to eat, Lyric. I gotta focus." He said.

She sighed looking at him.

Keith has been struggling studying this script for a part he's been trying hella hard to get.

Every time he went for the audition, they would always make him come back.

Keith being the humble and determined person he is, he never complained, he just always went to the next one.

Lyric felt so bad for him and she tried her best to support him and be there for him but no matter how many times she tried to talk him into other roles, he would always turn them down and focus on this one role.

"Can you at least take a 15 minute break? You've had your head in that script all day, babe." She said crossing her arms.

"I'll be down in a minute." He said.

He finally looked up at her and bit his lip.

She smiled and walked to him.

Standing behind the chair and wrapping her arms around his shoulders from behind.

"Stop beating yourself up, Keith. You got this." She said.

He sighed. "I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I go in there and I try my best to-to-to connect myself to the character but, nothing ever works for me." He said.

"I know baby, but... maybe it's not the right time for you focus on this particular role. Maybe there's an even better one for you. Your birthday is in a few weeks and you haven't even mentioned one word about it because of this. I honestly think you're distracted." She said kissing his jawline.

"Babe, I just really want this part. It's not everyday you get asked to be apart of a big ass motion picture that could possibly outsale 'Get Out' which hit hard as hell this year. No movie has outsold that one yet. This is huge for me." He ranted.

"How about we go talk about this at dinner, hm?" She smiled.

He took a deep breath. "Okay."

She smiled and took his hand leading him downstairs.

For the next couple days, Keith's head was buried in his script.

He was trying so hard to get this part that he would even watch old films that were similar to the one he was auditioning for so that he could study the characters and the history of the era.

Lyric, was stressed out because she wanted this just as bad as he did. If not more than him.

She did everything she could to help him.
