we started walking, and the bell rang.
"with how big the school is, you have 10 minutes to get to class after the bell rings. then the tardy bell rings." he said.
i nodded.
"so, why didn't i ever see you over the summer with nash?" shawn asked.
"oh, he came up here to stay with our dad for the summer. i don't really know why, i guess just to see what our new home town looks like. i stayed with my mom in san diego, i really liked it there." i said.
"what made you guys move here?" he asked.
"well, my mom got a really good job offer, and she couldn't reject the offer. it was too good of a deal to pass up. so here we are." i said calmly.
i felt him looking at me, i looked over at him and he smiled. i couldn't help but smile back.
"well, i really hope you like it here." he said as we reached the class room.
"hi shawn! and who's this? oh! you must be the new girl!" the teacher who seemed to be in his late 20's said.
"yeah, i'm ariana." i said and smiled.
"so nice to meet you ariana, i'm Mr.Jones." he said.
i saw shawn head to the back sitting by two unfamiliar boys.
"you can sit towards the back ariana." Mr.Jones said.
i sighed in relief once i saw he pointed towards shawn.
i sat in a seat right across from him.
"damn, who's this babe." one of the guys sitting by shawn said.
my eyes widened at his words.
"jack, shut up. it's uh, it's my friend ariana. she's new here. don't freak her out, idiot." shawn said rolling his eyes.
"ariana. i like it." jack said.
"jack, stop." a blonde guy said.
i was dead ass confused here.
"wait, who's who?" i said pointing at the two boys.
"that is jack johnson and that is jack gilinsky." shawn said pointing to each guy.
woah, they had the same names. this is gonna be great!!
"oh i, ok." i stuttered.
the tardy bell rang and Mr.Jones stood up to announce some new things we'll be studying. after a while of him talking, i noticed myself admiring shawns features.
wait, ariana chill. you just met him. calm down.
i snapped back to reality and must've missed a lot, shawn had to re explain everything to me.
"i- i just spaced off i guess... i kinda do that a lot." i said and nervously laughed.
he flashed a small smile and grabbed his notebook and sat it on his desk.
"you guys can work with someone, but you all need to be talking about nothing but this assignment. it's do tomorrow! don't waste time." the teacher said.
i looked down at my hands as i felt shawn look over at me.
just as i went to look back up at him, jack said something.
"ariana, wanna work together?" he asked.
i jerked my head up and looked at him.
i didn't know what to say honestly. i wanted to work with shawn, but i didn't want to be rude.
i looked over at shawn who was looking at me.
"um, i guess so?" i said.
i grabbed my notebook and pencil as i heard shawn sigh. i squeezed my eyes shut before looking back up again. i walked over to jack and sat by his desk.
"ok, so i'm gonna need you to help explain this stuff because, i guess i kinda zoned out while he was talking." i said.
