so lately i've been kind of into singing. i haven't told anyone, but someone kind of found out. jack johnson. he's one person i actually am ok with singing in front of. he's not judgmental but he's honest.
so how he found out was when he came over to get nash, i was in the living room singing along to whatever played on my phone. he actually told me i had a good voice and i should put it to use. i'm just extremely insecure with EVERYTHING. i need to get out of my comfort zone a little though.
jack and i are meeting up today to make a cover to the song mockingbird my eminem. not the whole song, but just the chorus and a little bit of the rapping so jack can get his time to shine. he is extremely talented, and i know he's gonna get far one day. in fact, him and jack gilinsky have started posting on vine. they're getting there! as much as i despise gilinsky, i must say he is very talented as well.
some artists i LOVE are coldplay, ed sheeran, actually, i have an extremely wide variety of taste of music. i like all sorts of stuff. the type of music that i enjoy the most is love songs to be honest. not the cliche "i'll cook you breakfast in bed" stuff, but the real stuff. the songs about how relationships really are. ive actually done a little messing around with my own song. it's useless, but it's kept me entertained for a while.
i showed up at jack's place and knocked.
"hey ari!" he said happily as he opened the door.
"hi! are you ready to do some singing?" i asked with a smile.
"definitely." he said and let me in the house.
we went into this room where he had his camera set up on a tripod.
"ok, so how are we gonna do this?" he asked.
i explained to him how i envisioned the whole thing going and he liked the idea.
so he turned his camera on and started recording.
"hi guys! i'm jack johnson! you might know me from vine, i have the account with my best friend jack gilinsky. well today, i'm here with one of my good friends ariana grier! yes, she's nash griers sister." he laughed.
what? how would they know nash? i ignored it and played along.
"hi!" i smiled.
"so she's been into singing lately, and her and i decided to do a cover together! so we're doing a short cover of mockingbird by eminem to post here on youtube. then i'll post a small clip of it on vine as well. so, were gonna get into it now!" he said.
- they finished the cover.
"ariana! that was actually amazing! and damn that song hits me in the feels every time i swear." he said.
"oh i know me too, and thank you! i'm really glad i have someone i can share my passion with." i said and hugged him.
"what about shawn?" he asked.
"i haven't really told him about my liking towards singing yet. i feel like since singing is something he's really into, it might irritate him? i don't know. i just need to think about it." i said.
"oh, well it shouldn't irritate him! he tells the guys how in love with you he is all the time, i think you'll be fine." he said and winked.
i blushed instantly.
"does he really say that?" i said and pushed a piece of hair behind my ear.
"yes! and i can tell you feel the same!" he said and laughed.
i laughed a little then gave him a hug goodbye and left.
i walked home and went straight into my room. i decided to work on my song a little more.
"oh baby look what you started,"
"no damnit that was off key."
"oh baby look what you started, the temperature's rising in here, is this gonna happen? been waiting and waiting for you to make a move. before i make a move." i sang.
i sighed and lied back.
"this is useless.." i said.
i grabbed my notebook anyways and began changing a few things.
