She had reached it. She had overcome her largest fault, the thing that had almost killed her; she had overcome her bulimia and anorexia, and was now only a few pounds under a normal weight for her height. She was just waiting for the relapse, though. She knew she would. Eventually, it all would get to her. All the stress, and the worry from the others. But now, she felt like crying tears of joy, instead.
She sat in a meeting with some of her bosses, along with a few coworkers she'd known since she was nine. But they all were in their late twenties, at youngest, while she was only at eighteen. She didn't mind, though. Because they were old friends, and this was her chance at a normal life.
Sure, she'd already graduated high school, and college, and worked for the government, but that last part had a possibility of being marked out. Although she was still the best hacker in the country, and in the top ten in the world, the government's need for her was going down. And Kyoya had talked her into one of the best things that could have happened in her life, and her only possible chance of seeing Akira again.
Takuma argued his point, once again, to his bosses, fighting to prove that, yes, she wouldn't tell anyone the information she knew, and yes, she would still be available for jobs. But she needed to live her own life, too; she had been oppressed by the government's need since she was nine years old and needed a break, a chance to have fun and not be pushed to the edge of insanity, as she had been.
She swore she wouldn't tell, and they planned a time to have her swear with a lie detector, as well. And she smiled as she stood and bowed, before sitting back down and brushing out her pencil skirt and fixing her button up.
Retirement might actually be a possibility.
"Would you know why Ageha-kun is so keen on getting us to go to the old host club room? We don't even function there anymore, ever since Hunny-senpai and Mori-senpai graduated and you left school." They continued walking, Kyoya with a briefcase in hand and Teru with her hands in her jeans' back pockets.
"No clue. She's pretty keen on surprises." Teru shrugged, turning her head to meet Kyoya's eyes.
"You didn't even ask?"
Teru looked back ahead, reaching forward for the doorknob. "No. Not my right to. It's not like she'd invite us all to her death." Although she joked, Kyoya noticed the dry gulp on the end. After her depression had mostly passed thanks to antidepressants, her anxiety only got worse about others. She had worried way too much after finding out what her father had done to her sister to keep hisself and their family safe.
"Teru." She smiled, because only him saying her name was enough comfort. She turned back to face him, hugging him in a tight, short hug, and he hugged back. She pulled away, and opened the door to the other hosts staring in awe of the two girls sitting on one of their old loveseats, hands linked.
Teru broke out giggling at the sight, and the astonished hosts and somewhat hurt girls looked to her. She continued for a minute before slowly stopping, a blush across her cheeks.
"Damn, Ageha. Shoulda known you would've ended up together. And your faces, good lord, I wasn't laughing at your relationship. I was laughing at all of your faces." She had a small smile on her face as she rushed over to Ageha's side, sitting on the arm rest with her feet on the cushion beside her. She ruffled Ageha hair so it stuck up in its ponytail, and while Ageha pouted, Annaisha reached over to fix it on reflex, like a mother bird. Everyone raised an eyebrow at Teru.
"...You approve of them?" Tamaki asked, and Teru nodded back at him with a stone-cold look in her eyes.
"Why wouldn't I? I think Annaisha is pretty cute, if you ask me." She lightened up a bit, turning back to face the couple and cooing. "I guess the gayness runs in the family, bae." Ageha burst out giggling, while the others-specifically the twins-were very confused.
"In the family?" Hikaru asked.
"Are you related to Annaisha, Teru-chan?"
Teru froze cold, realising her fatal mistake.
"No," Ageha said in her place, letting go of Annaisha's hand and standing up. She slowly walked up to them as she spoke. "But she's related to us, Hikaru, Kaoru."
"You know, I've been wondering why you haven't told them yet, Teru. It's been over a year since you started the game, and you've already taken Ageha on her deserved ice cream date." Annaisha pursed her lips, still obviously holding a large dislike for the two idiots that her girlfriend had been bullied by for years, next to the abuse of her father.
"...Teru?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey, so since there are quite a few things I might not have cleared up yet, so here's a list.
*Teru is bi-sexual/demi-sexual.
*Akira is heterosexual.
*Annaisha and Ageha are dating.
*Akira was sent back to America because he failed his job. His job was to be a bodyguard for Teru's work, and in failing to protect her mental health and keep her out of fights, they were both supposed to be fired. Takuma, of course, let it slide with as little damage as possible.
*Takuma is her legal guardian.
*Ageha is the little sister of the twins in the manga; I just made her a teenager instead of toddler-aged.
*Akira and Teru actually act the opposite as they did when they met. Akira was a party-goer with lots of college-age friends, and was about to join one of the idiot frats when Teru came along and changed his mind.
*Teru has been a hacker for the govt since she was nine.
*Teru's brothers and mother forgot her.
*There are only three or four more chapters. I apologise.
*Teru has bipolar 2.
*In the last chapter and this chapter, Teru has gone up a year each. She is eighteen, and in the flashback, seventeen.
*Ask any other questions you might have, and don't forget to vote! >.< <3
