"Teru?"
~
She stayed in her seat, facing away from the two boys she'd almost forgotten to remind. Her game had already been won by a non-player, and she'd forgotten her two idiots in the process. Curse her complicated, science-fiction life.
Finally, she whispered a sweet, shaking word. "...Hello?" Everyone was confused as she continued.
"Who is this?" she whispered in her guy's voice, before switching back as the twins slowly realised. "Remember... back when you were nine? Third year of elementary school?" She paused, swallowing. "Remember what I said to you?..."
"I said I'd play a game with you."
Hikaru and Kaoru looked at each other, one letting out a breath and the other taking one in as they remembered that fateful phone call they'd gotten only a little before she'd come to their school. She began shaking as Kyoya took a step towards her, and she turned her head left only enough to look at him.
He hugged her tight as he pulled her off the couch and up into his arms. She hugged him back, burying her face into his shoulder. She was able to continue with that little bit of strength from him. "And... you... lost."
She heard one of them take a step forward, but one of Kyoya's arms unwrapped themselves from her torso to put a hand up to them. Hikaru, she presumed it was that had stepped. "Don't tell me your name is..." he whispered. Yes, it was him.
Suddenly, she had an idea. "Kyoya, I'm g-gonna g-go to the bathroom a-a second." He met her green eyes, then nodded in understanding, holding her arms a second to make sure she was steady before she wandered off to the bathroom in the back of the room.
She clutched the sink in shaking hands, trying to steady herself as she heard the hushed arguing from outside. Kyoya wouldn't say anything without her permission, but Hikaru was harsh and Tamaki pained and trying to quiet them. She looked up to meet red and golden eyes in the mirror through shining glasses. Now, she was practically a spitting image of them with her shoulder-length ginger hair, pale skin, and her almost-normal weight. She was even wearing some of their mom's clothing line, ironically, with a black off-shoulder tank top, a maroon sweater vest that was open in the front, grey skinny jeans, combat boots, and a chain necklace over her and Akira's. She also had headphones hanging around her neck.
She finally smirked to herself in the mirror, her grip growing tighter on the sink before letting go. She could beat her own past.
She walked out the swinging door, a loud laugh escaping her lips as she locked eyes with Ageha. Ageha was surprised before she smirked as well, running to meet Teru in the middle.
"Prepare for troublllllllllle!"
"Maaake it double!"
"Yoshi-sama is here to cause a bit of chaos."
"And Ageha-chan to cause acts heinous."
They giggled as they looked back at each other, the twins scaredly staring as they continued, speaking to each other.
"That ice cream date was fun."
"And thanks for taking me shopping, Yoshi-nee! Hitachiin-san," she gagged on the name, "wouldn't let me dress like a tomboy."
"It's nice seeing you out of the frilly trash you were in at the hospital." She looked up at the ceiling. "Hikaru-san, Kaoru-san, there's so much you don't know about Hitachiin-san's arrest. Like how I caught him, and what he did to Ageha. It's a story for another time, though."
