It was in the dead of night and he had all of his followers packing up the SUVs for the next trip to Baltimore. They were going to be different about this attack, going in at night. It would ensure that more people would be unsuspecting.
There was a knock on the door of his makeshift office in the old abandoned building. And when the door opened, he was surprised to see just who it was standing on the other side.
“And to what do I owe this pleasure?” he asked, standing up to sit on the edge of the desk.
“I’m coming to you, just like you wanted me to before I refused,” the guy said. He could plainly hear the anger in his voice.
“She doesn’t love you like she loves him, does she? That’s why you came,” he said, smiling. He could use this to his advantage. “She would never love you the same.”
“You don’t have to keep saying it,” he said through his teeth. “And this had better be just like you promised. You’re not going to be controlling me like you’re controlling the others. I’m free from you.”
He nodded. “Exactly,” he said, standing. He walked toward him and stuck out his hand, shaking his. “Then you made a good choice, coming to me, Adrian Duke. A good choice.”
