Riley's POV
Lucas and I were hanging out on the weekend. We were over at his house.
"So what do you want to do?" Lucas said wrapping his arm around me.
"I don't know," I answered.
We have already watched a movie, facetimed friends and done homework.
"Maybe, you want to go play a video game?" Lucas suggested.
"Which one?" I asked.
"Super Mario Kart?" he suggested. He only said that game because that is the only video game he has that for the life of me I can't beat him at.
"Ugh, I guess," I said following Lucas to the living room where the XBox was.
He turned it on and popped in the game.
"Do you think you are going to win the game this time?" Lucas said teasing me.
"Probably not," I said giggling.
"Don't lose hope babe," he said.
"Too late," I said jokingly.
"You are so cute," he said as he kissed me on the forehead.
"Thanks," I said smiling.
He turned on the game and we chose our characters so we could start playing. I chose Toad and he chose Bowser.
"Why do you always choose Bowser?" I asked?
"I don't know. Maybe because like I feel he brings me luck," he answered.
"You are so weird," I said looking at the screen.
"And you are gorgeous," he said. Somehow some way no matter what he does he always manages to make me smile. Don't ask me why but he does.
"Okay, are we going to choose our karts or not," I said.
"Okay, let's choose our karts," I said.
"Okay," he said looking at the screen,"gotta choose my unique kart that I ways use."
"Lucas, I doubt you are the only one that uses that kart," I said.
"Probably true," he said.
"And the truth comes out," I said half laughing.
After about 20 minutes of Lucas making sure that his car was perfect we started to race.
"What race do you want to do?" Lucas said
"Rainbow Road," I said confidently.
"Are you sure?" Lucas asked.
"Why did you think I said it?" I asked. He shrugged and chose Rainbow Road.
"I am going to beat you you do know that?" Lucas said.
"I will win this time!!" I yelled confidently and half laughing.
"Sure you will," he said sarcastically.
It was obvious I wasn't and he was right. I came in last place while he came in 3rd.
"I told you you wouldn't win!!" he said.
"You are mean," I said sassily.
"Is poor Riley hurt?" Lucas said pulling me close.
"Yes," I said.
"It is okay," he said as he kissed my head. He felt me feel so safe in his arms. A feeling that no other boy could let me feel.
Lucas and I have really sweet and adorable moments but those moments that are just plain silly and cheesy are the perfect memories.
