Riley's POV
It was about a week before school starts up again and every year for the sophomores, juniors and seniors there was a dance before all of the upcoming freshmen came in.
Lucas asked me to go with him the first day in August and today was the dance. I got a light pink dress and some combat boots.

I was getting dressed when Maya decided to come into my bedroom window. She was scared to death because Zay asked her so she said yes.
"Hey, Riles," she said.
"Hey, Peaches," I said while applying some blush. Maya was in a black dress and a glitter sparkling bomber jacket.
"Whose idea was that?" I asked circling her outfit.
"My mother's," she said sitting on my bed.
"That is what I thought," I said going back to applying my blush.
"So, you and Lucas still going together?" Maya asked.
"Yeah, how about you and Zay?" I asked.
"So far that is what I know," she said looking down.
"Did you want Josh to ask you?" I asked.
"Kinda," she said quietly.
"What was that?" I teased.
"Kinda," she said a little louder.
"What?" I said half giggling.
"I wanted him to ask me. You happy?" Maya asked.
"Actually I am," I said.
"Why?" she asked.
"Because he wanted to take you too. When he found out that Zay asked you he wasn't very happy," I said.
"Really?" she asked.
"Really," I said.
I was done getting ready so we were waiting for the boys to get here. I guess it was logical to Zay that Maya would be here with me.
"What are you considering this?" Maya asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Are you considering this a date, a get together, like what are you considering this," Maya explained.
"I guess a date," I answered,"What about you?"
"I don't know. Maybe a date," she said.
We were sitting in the bay window talking. Logic, bay window sitting makes it so then we ask deep questions. Don't ask me why but it does.
"So Maya wants to consider her first date with Zay?" I asked.
"Maybe," she said trying hard not to roll her eyes.
"I never thought you would say that," I said surprised.
"Well, get used to it because there are going to be more surprises on the way," she said.
We sat in silence for awhile before my mom came in and broke it.
"Hey girls, the boys are here to come and pick you up," she said.
"Okay, mom," I said.
I got up and offered Maya my hand. She took it and we ran out of the room. We got to the living room and saw Lucas and Zay on the couch sitting with dad and Auggie on either side.
"Oh hey girls," my dad said.
Zay was in a black tux and so was Lucas.
(I could totally see Lucas and Zay wearing tuxes. Why didn't they ever wear a tuxedo??)
"Hey, Riley," Lucas said.
"Hey, Lucas," I said.
"Hey, Maya," Zay said.
"Hey, Zay," Maya said.
"You guys ready to go?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah," Maya and I said after looking at each other.
The best place to learn about anyone is one on one time together.

I am having as much fun as I have been whenever I write these. But I seriously can't wait until this is over!!
