Lucas' POV
It was late at night and Riley and I were hanging out at my house.
Her parents agreed that she could spend the weekend with me since they were going to see their parents and Riley didn't want to come with them.
We were really bored and we were sitting on my bed in my room watching Netflix on my laptop.
"I am so bored," Riley said.
"Same. We have been watching Netflix ever since you got here earlier," I said.
"We have haven't we," she said. We were really bored and we truly had no idea what to do.
My mom walked in and saw how bored we were.
"I heard there is a couple party over at Charlie Gardner's house," she said,"Maybe you two can get ready and I can take you over there."
We didn't even have to discuss it with each other, we both knew the answer.
"Let us get ready," Riley said smiling.
"Okay, just let me know," my mom said and then she left.
"Let me text Charlie and see if there are any rules about the party," Riley said as she got up and grabbed her phone.
She quickly typed words and sent the text to Charlie. It didn't take that long to get a response.
"Not too big guidelines except it has to be obvious that you two are a couple," Riley read from the text.
"Text him some things that they are doing," I said.
"Okay," she said. She quickly typed what I said and waited not to long for a response.
"Most couples are wearing similar outfits or shirts that correspond with the other," Riley read.
"How about we wear animal ears?" I suggested.
"That would be cool and different," she said as she set down her phone.
We quickly found some animal ears. Riley got some purple ears and I found some simple black ears.
We got to the party fine and everyone was shocked to see us. We even saw Farkle and Smackle. They were wearing the red sweaters they wore to Riley's Christmas party in eighth grade. Don't ask me how they still fit but they did and they looked like a definite couple.
"So you two decided to finally show up," Farkle said sassily.
"Yeah, we got really bored," I said. Smackle and Riley went off to talk leaving Farkle and I to our lonesomes.
"You two decided to wear animal ears?" Farkle asked pointing to the animals ears on my head.
"Yeah, we wanted to be different," I said.
"Was it Riley's idea?" Farkle asked.
"No, actually it was my idea," I said in a matter of a fact voice.
"Really, I feel like that would have been Riley's idea," Farkle said shocked.
"No, it was my idea," I said laughing.
"Oh look whose back?" Farkle said jokingly.
Riley and Smackle had came back and wrapped their arms around us.
"Wanna go dance?" Smackle asked.
"Yeah," Riley asked and they both smiled at us and we couldn't say no.
"Sure," Farkle and I both said at the same time.
We went onto the dance floor and had a great time.
Sometimes hanging out with my friends makes me the happiest. When I break out of my comfort shell is always good once in awhile. Sometimes with fashion, my personality what I do but staying true to myself is the best thing I can do.
