The Enemy of my Enemy

Chapter 4

The morning light hit Ripple like a bomb to the face. 

"Wakey Wakey!" Toxy shrieked as she pulled the blinds open. The others sat up groggily.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Kai snapped. His hair was tangled and messy from his night's rest. Toxy only shrugged. Ripple turned himself over and looked at Pinkie, who had slept beside him last night. The large pony rolled out of bad and unsteadily walked into the kitchen. He blinked a few times to clear the wariness from his eyes. Once his blurry vision disappeared, he checked the time. 9:18. In the other room, Kai, Toxy, and Lucien were bickering like children. Ripple stomped in and sniffed. 

"Y'all need to shut up before you wake our neighbors," he snorted . Kai spat at them before flinging the covers over his head. 

"So... Pinkie, Kai, Lucien, Allie, and Toxy... you guys need to fly around the city and try to find that pony again. We HAVE to catch them," Ripple said, turning to face them. Kai peeked out from the sheets so only his eyes showed. It was actually kinda creepy. 

"Leo and Alexander, you're with me."

After a bit of planning and discussions, the patrol group left. Ripple turned to Alex and Leo. 

"Alright, we'll keep a look out for now. Considering that we don't have wings, we can't cover ground quite as easily, so we'll just watch and see if anything happens."

Ripple flopped onto the bed and groaned. Nothing had happened AT ALL. It was quite boring in fact. Ripple sat up and surveyed the room. He hadn't looked at it clearly for a while. It had plain tan walls with two wooden, old-style, bunk beds and a queen size bed in next to the window. On the opposite wall was a television screen that was placed on top of a cherry wood dresser. Ripple settled down on the bed and began to doze off only to hear glass shattering from the other room. Ripple shoot out of the bedroom to see what was going on. Alex was on the floor with a gray pony above him. She had black hair with white strips. She had several accessories on. There was a silver and blue amulet necklace on her neck and belts with knives. The pony opened her eyes and stared straight at Ripple. Her pink eyes stared into him and suddenly Ripple fell to the floor. Leo jumped backwards but she turned her gaze to Leo and he was slammed into the ground. Ripple tried to get up but the force on his back only grew stronger. The floor beneath him started to crack. Then, the floor gave way and the force slammed him into the floor below him. Leo followed close behind. Ripple was slammed back into by whatever was him down and he crashed through to the next floor. Ripple scrambled up as the force lifted for a second and he took off. He ran to the bedroom on the floor, freaked out a few younger ponies, and tore open the window. The pony dropped onto the floor and took off after Ripple. Leo ran after her and shoved her to the side. The pony staggered sideways and Leo and Ripple jumped out of the window. Wind rushed through their hair and Ripple's horn lit up with a black magic. A large pillow appeared below them and Leo and Ripple hit it. Leo sunk into the pillow and nearly disappeared. 

"Who are you?!" Ripple yelled at the pony who was now standing on the window sill. 

"Name's Milantha," she called back down and jumped out the window and flung herself at Ripple. 

"So comfy, wo-" Leo wailed as the pillow vanished into dust and he face planted into the ground. Ripple scrambled away and Milantha lightly touched the ground. 

"Gravity manipulation?" Ripple questioned. She only grinned and something shoved Ripple backwards and he was slammed into the building on the opposite side of the road. Bricks crumbled onto the sidewalk from the impact and Ripple fell forward. He pulled himself back up and glared at the pony. Ripple shot forward and tackled the pony. The pony thrashed angrily and knocked him off. Milantha widened her eyes and another force shoved Ripple into the ground. An immense amount of pain surged through his back and he shouted in agony. Suddenly, Leo jumped onto her back and wrestled her onto the ground. 

"Leo! Good timing!" Ripple praised and he stood up, his legs trembling. Milantha hissed and threw Leo onto the ground and slammed them into the ground. Leo cried out in pain and Ripple hissed. Ripple's horn flashed and a large black explosion rippled across the sky. It was an emergency signal to call the others to him for help. Hopefully they'd see it.

Kai flew alongside Toxy and Lucien. They had scanned the entire city and had uncovered nothing. Kai flew downwards and landed on the top of the roof. He walked to the edge and perched himself on the guard-rail. Toxy and Lucien landed behind him and they leaned over the edge cautiously. 

"Now what?" Lucien asked. Kai frowned and his ear twitched. 

"Where should we go next..." Kai murmured. Suddenly, something exploded behind them. Kai spun around and saw pitch black smoke whirling into the sky. The smoke slowly shaped into a circular formation... that was the emergency signal that Ripple used! 

"I think we should go towards that!" Toxy suggested with a sparkling eye. The white pegasus ran forward and leaped off the roof with her wings spread. Kai ran after her with Lucien behind him and they plummeted downwards. Their wings caught the air and they took off straight for the explosions.

Pinkie's wings fluttered as she looked downwards. Her eyes scanned the streets a few times and she looked at Allie.

"Anything?" She asked. Allie shook her head and pouted. 

"This is so uncool! Where did that pony go?!" Allie cried out. Right after she said that, a black puff of smoke exploded a few streets up. It turned into a circle before dissipating into nothingness. Pinkie's eyes widened. 

"Ripple's in trouble!" she gasped and took off in that direction. Allie hovered in her spot and let out a regretful sigh before she followed suit with the blue pegasus.
