The Enemy of my Enemy

Chapter 9

It had been a day since their battle with Fairy and Ethan. Ripple and the others had managed to drag the injured members back to the Organization for help, and they had luckily received the help they needed. Ripple sat outside the Medical wing. His eyes stared blankly into space as his thoughts crashed through his mind like a tsunami. He didn't know how to react to the attack that Kai and him had done the day before. It was almost unreal. Ripple was pulled from his thoughts as voices echoed through the hallways and the double doors opened. Loopy appeared through the door. Dangling in front of her was Tae. He was thrashing around like a worm. Loopy dropped him and he tried to squeeze back through the door but Loopy pushed him back. Ripple watched in quiet amusement as the gray pony attempted to get through Loopy. She slammed the door shut and locked it. Tae slammed his hoof into the door and turned his head to Ripple. 

"You," Tae narrowed his eyes. Ripple raised an eyebrow. 

"Me?" 

Tae approached him quickly and Ripple could see the anger in his eyes. Ripple watched him with a calm expression. 

"How could you let Allie get hurt?!" Tae spat. Ripple's ear flicked and he glared at Tae. 

"If I could've stopped them all from getting hurt, I would've. I was a little preoccupied at the moment," Ripple responded. Tae's eyes lit with a fire. 

"How will you protect this city if you can't even protect your Teammates?" Tae snarled. The gray pony whipped around and stormed off with sparks of black lightning flickering off of his body. Ripple watched him go with weary eyes. Ripple rose to his hooves and made his way down the hallway. His hooves made echoing clacks as he moved down the stone corridor. At the end of the hallway he took were the two doors that entered to the Training Grounds. Ripple pushed them open violently and he kicked them shut as he entered. Ripple froze on the spot when he saw the only figure he didn't want to see at that moment. Kai's lanky brown body sat in the middle of the grounds, facing him. His black and orange eyes cast daggers at him. His whip-like tail was curled neatly around his legs and his wings were folded back with care. Ripple forced himself to approach the other pony and he stopped in front of him. 

"Why are you here?" Ripple asked. Kai let out a breathe. 

"Because I knew you'd be here."

Ripple exhaled sharply and turned back around. 

"Well, I don't want anything to do with you right now, alright?" Ripple said, his voice cold as ice. 

"I need to talk to you. It's regarding the fight yesterday," Kai announced with a stern voice. Ripple turned his head to face him. Kai grinned. 

"I knew that'd catch your attention." 

Ripple slowly turned around and sat down. The room grew silent and awkwardness set in. 

"Can you please talk," Ripple asked. Kai's eyes flashed with surprise. 

"Oh... right. Anyway, I was thinking it over and stuff... And all I could think of was a combined attack."

"Well that's kinda obvious. Our attacks were combined," Ripple interjected. Kai gave him an annoyed look. 

"It's more than that. We both used our most powerful attacks. You used your Black Magic, and I used my Unison attack. Those two are already powerful enough on their own, but put together... we could bring down the Alliance quickly!" Kai said. Ripple shook his head. 

"Listen, Kai, we couldn't do that. I'm not able to use my Black Magic very much because it drains my energy when I use it. I'm still trying to recover all the energy I used yesterday," Ripple said. Kai looked down with frustration. 

"Kai, what do you want?" Ripple asked quietly. He glanced up with a confused look. He was silent for a moment. 

"What do you mean?" He asked, hesitantly. 

"I mean... what do you want to do about the Alliance. We're a team now... so we better start planning," Ripple clarified. 

"I-I want to attack them as soon as we can... before they form a plan to attack the Organization's HQ first," Kai replied with a sharp tone. Ripple nodded. He turned around and started to open the door. 

"Where are you going?" Kai asked. Ripple smiled at him. 

"To gather the others, of course!" 

Kai watched him with a surprised look in his black and orange eyes, but he got up and followed him out. Ripple glanced around for a moment.  

"We'll have to go to the Medical Wing... but first, let's find PB, Lucien, and Leo." 

Kai nodded in agreement and they started to search around the building for the other members.

Ripple and Kai had eventually gathered all the members and they stood inside the room where Toxy, Avery, Allie, and Alexander were. Kai flicked his tail wildly and his eyes widened, and soon a 3D projection of the Alliance building came up. 

"How do you do that, Kai?" Allie asked. Kai exhaled slowly. 

"I'm a cyborg, remember?" Kai answered without moving anything but his mouth. Allie fell silent as she laid back in the bed. 

"Alright, so Kai was able to get an outside view of the building, but we don't know what the inside looks like," Toxy piped up. Kai chuckled.

"Kai managed to drop a drone before we left. However, we can't get it inside, but we can watch the outside," Ripple said. The projection flicked and began to move. It rose into the air and started to move forward at a pretty fast pace. The projection crept up to the edge of the building before hovering just in sight of the guards. There were 8 guards on both sides, 16 in total. Kai let out a choked cry as the projection fell to the ground and soon static filled the picture. Kai blinked at the projection vanished from sight. 

"Well... someone found the drone..." Kai pouted. 

"Alright... let's see what we can do with the information we have at the moment," Alexander suggested. Ripple nodded.

"How about this..."
