The Enemy of my Enemy

Chapter 5

There was quite a lot of pain in Ripple's side. He had sent up the signal 3 minutes ago, and the rest of the team weren't here yet. Ripple lunged forward but was blasted sideways once again. Leo ran up and grabbed her but he was thrown into the ground by a massive force. Ripple looked at Leo and he pulled himself back up. 

"You are so very persistent. Give up and come with me," Milantha hissed. Ripple shook his head and he felt blood run out of his nose. Well... that didn't seem good at all. Ripple shot out an explosion and Milantha flew down the road. Ripple ran over to Leo and helped him up as Milantha's hooves slammed into the ground as she ran at them. Out of absolutely nowhere, something exploded right next to Milantha. The Alliance pony stumbled and fell to the ground. Kai's brown body swooped out of the sky dramatically like some sort of superhero. He slammed into Milantha and pinned her to the ground. 

"How can you not take care of one measly pony!" Kai shouted at Ripple. At that moment, Kai was thrown backwards and he hit the pavement with a sickening crack. 

"Karma, Kai, Karma!" Ripple yelled back and he pulled Leo away from the street. The poor guy was unconscious. Pinkie, Toxy, and Lucien dove down and attacked Milantha. Milantha roared in protest and she slammed her hooves into the ground. The gravity around Ripple increased dramatically and he collapsed to the ground. The pegasi hit the ground like magnets. The street began to crack as the pressure increased. 

"This is for USING MY HEAD AS A MAT!" someone screeched. The pressure vanished and Ripple looked up only to find Alexander beating the Alliance pony senselessly with a broom. 

"A-Alexander!!!" Allie called out. Milantha fell still. 

"You killed her!!!!!!!!" Toxy howled in dismay. 

"I did not!!! She's still breathing, she's just unconscious," Alex stated and climbed off of the pony. He hefted the broom up proudly. 

"That was some maximum broom skills there," Lucien coughed. Alex's only reply was a smug smile. Ripple began to hobble over to Milantha when he was tackled by Pinkie. 

"You're hurt! Ripple! Are you ok!!!?" Pinkie questioned with a motherly tone. Ripple flattened his ears. 

"Yeah... I'm fine," he replied. He moved forward and Kai grabbed the pony. He lifted her up and stared at her. 

"Let's interrogate her!" Toxy suggested with an evil look on her face. Kai grinned. 

"That sounds find by me."

"Get some info from her, I'm gonna have to tend to Leo and I," Ripple said. The others merely nodded and began to drag the unconscious Alliance pony back to the room. Ripple walked back over to Leo and nudged him. 

"Hey, Pinkie, Alex, help me with Leo," Ripple said as he lifted Leo up. Alex and Pinkie ran over and helped carry his weight back to the room. Once they got inside they saw Milantha still unconscious. However, she was now tied up to a chair. Ripple laid Leo on the couch and he walked over to the Alliance pony. She let out a small grunt and her eyes opened. Milantha started writhing in the seat and she let out harsh hisses at the Team. Kai leaned in and frowned. 

"Quit struggling. You're not going anywhere. Now... tell us where the Alliance is," Kai growled. Milantha shook her head fiercely and nearly bit Kai's nose. He retracted from her in surprise and snarled. 

"You guys go, Lucien and I will handle this," Kai said. Ripple watched him quietly before he left the room with everyone other than Lucien and Kai. Ripple closed the door and sat down in front of Leo. His eyes turned toward the gaping hole that he had been smashed through. He let out a sigh. That was going to be a pretty big bill. 

"So, uh, what do we do about the hole?" Toxy asked as she peered down at the broken floors. Ripple rummaged around under the couch and found the first aid kit. 

"Not sure yet," Ripple replied as he started to wrap Leo's leg which had a small cut on it. In the other room he could hear Milantha snarling and hissing. 

"She curses worse than a sailor!" Allie cooed.

The sky was beginning to darken as night began to fall. In the other room, Kai and Lucien were still having difficulties getting information from the Alliance Member they had captured early that day. Ripple felt restless. He rolled around, flopped, did some weird yoga moves, all to find a comfortable position to sleep... nothing worked. Ripple quietly got out of bed, careful not to wake Pinkie, and he slipped out of the room. He found the roof access and he unlocked it. Ripple climbed the stairs up and opened the door. He was blasted by a gust of wind as he climbed out of the safety of the square-ish cement block. Ripple walked over to the edge of the building and looked out at the city below him. It was really peaceful at this time. Ripple inhaled deeply as another wave of wind whirled around him. Suddenly, a voice spoke behind him. 

"So you must be the infamous Ripple..." the voice said. Ripple turned around to be met by... absolutely no one. Ripple slowly stood up. 

"I wouldn't call myself infamous," he replied coldly. He began to move slowly towards the cement block that lead back into the building. 

"Well, you are infamous to us," the voice said. The voice was definitely female. 

"Do you mind telling me who are you?" Ripple asked as he moved closer and closer to the door. 

"My name is Venus. But that's all I will tell you." 

"Where are you?" 

"Somewhere near you, but you can't see me," she answered. 

"What do you want with me?" Ripple questioned with a low voice. Venus didn't answer. 5 seconds passed, then 10, then 15 before she finally said something. 

"We'll be seeing you all very soon. I can't wait! We'll be able to play." 

Whatever presences Ripple had felt a moment again had vanished. Ripple pulled the door open and slammed it shut. He hurried down the stairs and ran back to the room. He opened the door quietly and sat down with his back against the door. No way in heck was he sleeping tonight.
