Due to new edits, this chapter now has graphic scenes. Not too graphic, but if you think part of this chapter will give you triggers, then you may skip it. With that said, reader discretion is advised.
"Hello, Nashville!"
"You like?" Hunter asks.
"Like? More like love! I can't believe I'm finally here!"
"Well, you have two new homes now."
"What do you mean?"
"Our home in Nashville, my apartment. And our home on the road, HFS Lafayette. It's a lot to get used to going back and forth, but you'll get used to it."
"What happened to the studio?"
"That's the den... No girls allowed!" At this point, he was squealing... And I have no idea how it's even possible for guys to squeal.
"You let in people that work there."
"Yeah, but you don't work there."
"C'mon, Hunt, what happened to writing songs together? I can totally help, you know!"
"Question is how good have you gotten since I last saw you?" He's stroking his chin like he has a beard right now... I can't see my brother growing a beard...
"Well, in about 2-3 years... I'd say I've gotten better."
"Nothing about you ending your life again, right?" His face was serious now. The fun Hutner had gone away for now. I knew he was worried about me. I would be, too. But he should know I'm not like that anymore.
"No, Hunter. But, c'mon, I'm sure several people want me dead."
"That's not true, Ry, they're just-"
"Telling the truth! I mean, c'mon, I mean I have PTSD for crying out loud! I'm called the scaredy cat at school every day! That doesn't help me get friends, Easton!" I didn't mean to get this mad at him. I only called him by his middle name when I'm mad at him. And, honestly, I was tired of him saying it was going to be okay sometimes. How would it have been when he wasn't around to support me? I know, he has his music career, but after what happened to Wyatt that day, I've never exactly been the same...
"How in the world did you get-"
"Let's not worry about it," I interrupted him. "I'm gonna take a nap."
"O-okay..."
......
"C'mon, Ry, we have an exam in US Geography that we gotta study for. Can't you stop strumming that guitar of yours for once in your life?" Oh Wyatt, I thought you still knew that I was never gonna put the guitar that I've always wanted back in its case. And you can thank Hunter for that.
"Oh Wy, you know how I'm so in love with music."
"What," he asked exasperated, "you love music more than you love me!?! I'm hurt."
"Sorry, bucko," I replied out of breath from laughing so much, "you know how much I consider music my baby."
"Whatever, missy, just get back to work, will ya?"
Suddenly, we hear glass breaking and all I could hear was Wyatt yelling before my world went black...
~~~
I wake up feeling really cold. My back hurts and I have a crick in my neck. There's something itchy wrapped around me and something constricting my mouth. I slowly open my eyes and see that I'm in a room somewhere... and Wyatt's in a chair... handcuffed to the chair... I feel rough hands unwrap the thing constricting my mouth... and I suddenly see someone I didn't wanna see for the rest of my life...
