SET OF THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW
RYLAN'S POV
So, today we're on Ellen. We did our interview with the crew from Good Morning America a few days ago, and it wasn't as deep of a conversation on how everything went. They mainly just wanted me to say what I said in court. But knowing Ellen I know that everything is going to be revealed today whether I like it or not. And then shows I do from here on in will ask me about the things I said here. We still have The View, Late Night, Wendy Williams, Today, and now Conan, so this should be interesting. And hopefully Ellen got us either a big enough couch or at least enough seats. And since we got here at like... I'd like to say it's seven in the morning, but it felt more like 6. Ellen wanted to do some stuff with us before the show. So we pretty much hung out for a bit, we all went through The Haunted Hallway (Andy surprisingly got scared the most), Ellen scared Destini and Em as they tried to go into the bathroom like she did to Taylor Swift one time, and we all managed to prank Ellen by me pretending that I was having a panic attack when she tried to scare me.
The look on her face when I did that was priceless, by the way. Probably heartless, but it was definitely priceless.
So at around 4 pm she had to start her show. She did a game with the audience, read some funny tweets, and showed the audience some books sent in by fans and readers. Then I think our time was about to come up.
"So before our guests of the day come out, I would just like to say something about them that probably almost everyone knows. In just about the time of three and a half months, give or take a couple days, we've seen six kids from totally different places across the country become united by the help of some already famous siblings. But before I go any further, I want you to take a look at this collaborative video of the guests, check it out."
All of a sudden we heard our voices and the instrumental to Amen in the background. We pretty much heard everything. Interviews, concerts, Day in the Life episodes, answers from fans on how they think of us and our music, and so on. It was a great video, actually. Plus now we knew that the quote on quote 'fun' was about to start.
"This group was started by a crazy idea from a man who wants nothing but crazy, along with the youngest winner of The Voice so far, a survivor with her own TV show, two boys from Florida and Georgia respectively, and a cowboy that wants to ride beside an angel. These six teens immediately made themselves known as the youngest, most successful musicians in all of music history, making a new name for the country music industry, picking up multiple awards left and right, and being a voice and inspiration for fans of all ages. Please help me welcome Rylan Hayes, Emmerson Lynch, Destini Hubbard, Andrew McEntire, Tristen Bradbery, and Wyatt Barnes of Wildflowers and Redneck Boyz!"
The crowd immediately went into an uproar. We headed out in pairs of couples out onto the stage. Wyatt and I were in front, Andy and Em were behind us, and Destini and Tristen were behind them. We all gave Ellen hugs as we made it over to the couches then sat down. Thankfully the couch was big enough.
"Welcome to Ellen!" Ellen exclaimed as the crowd finally calmed down.
"Thank you," we all replied simultaniously.
"Now before we get started with the serious stuff today, I think everyone here and the fans at home want to know one thing... How did Wildflowers and Redenck Boyz even start? And whoever thinks they can answer whatever question next can answer." Everyone looks at me and gets the crowd to laugh.
"Well," I started after everyone calmed down, "when Hunter told me that Wyatt was moved to a Rehab center in Nashville, we went to go see him. And after I finally got to see Wyatt, he brought Reba McEntire, Danielle Bradbery, Ainsley Britian, Brian Kelly, Tyler Hubbard, and Dustin Lynch into the room along with Destini, Em, Andy, and Tristen. At the time we had no idea who the four of them were, but Wyatt and I were freaking out that Hunter had brought some of the biggest people in country music to Wyatt's hospital room. But that's nothing compared to later meeting almost everyone in the country music industry in one room. Then Hunter officially introduced Wyatt and I to Destini, Em, Andy, and Tristen. They heard how I wanted to make music and enter the country music business and that they wanted to join me and that Wyatt could join if he was interested, too, since he was no longer in rehab. Anyway, everyone that was in that room, which was pretty much everyone from country music that you can imagine, wanted me to enter the country music industry. Apparently Hunter had recorded me singing and agreed with Hunter about the fact that I apparently had a talent for singing. They offered everything from help on collaborations, tips, the whole nine yards. And if I was to say yes to the whole shebang, then Dann was going to be our producer and help us get signed to Atlantic Records. And we said yes, so that's how it began."
