FIVE MINUTES BEFORE WARB SOUND CHECK

"Hey, guys, have you seen Rylan?" Wyatt asked.

"No," I replied, "Why?"

"Because she went to the dressing room for something, but never came back out."

"Maybe she went out for some fresh air?" Matt asked.

"No, she said she was going to the dressing room." Andy replied.

"Guys!" Tristen shouted, sprinting back onto the stage with a piece of paper in his hand, "I found this in the dressing room!" He then handed me the note, and I began to read.

Hello everyone,

Sorry to surprise you like this, but I have something important to tell you. Rylan has decided to be with me from now on. She has called Atlantic Records and withdrawn herself from that stupid band she was once in. She no longer wishes to see her friends and family and asks to not be followed by the paparazzi from here on out. She no longer wants to speak to any of you for the rest of her life. So if you try speaking to her, she'll just ignore you. But she does wish that you all have a nice life.

"This... this can't be happening..." I started shaking, the only movement I could make. Everyone kept asking me what was wrong. Suddenly I felt the paper being torn from my hands. I looked up to see Wyatt reading the note, the rage in his eyes blazing like a wildfire. He dropped to his knees, screaming profanities and pounding his fists into the stage floor, crying all the while. He almost wanted to take it out on the instruments, but Matt and Sam held him back. Andy and Tristen read the note with rage and guilt in their eyes, not knowing how to react. The girls ask me what's going on. I don't have the courage to answer with the lump in my throat. Destini wiped my wet face with her hands. I must've been crying.

"What's going on, Hunter?" she asked.

"Rylan's been... she's been kidnapped..." At the news, the girls started crying. Tristen and Destini were crying with each other. So were Emmerson and Andy. Then all of the guys with me were crying. Even Dann was crying.

"Rylan!" I woke up in a cold sweat. I could barely catch my breath. My body wouldn't quit shaking. My eyes hurt like crazy. My hair felt really heavy. I couldn't believe it was really happening. I ran out to the bunks to see whether or not it was just a bad dream or not. And just as I thought, Wyatt was sitting in bed with his head in his hands and pulling his hair out.

My bad dream was a flashback from reality.

My little sister had really been kidnapped.

"Hey," Wyatt sighed, "How've you been holding up?"

"I've felt horrible," I replied.

"I can understand that. I mean, you are her older brother. I just wish I could've gone with her to the dressing room so this wouldn't have happened."

"Hey, you didn't know. Why don't we go outside and talk about this? We probably need the fresh air, anyway."

"Alright." We then headed off the tour bus to catch some air and to talk about the whole Rylan situation.
