I felt my shoes touch the ground of gravel as I headed to school.  My body was shivering from the cold, and it was barely starting to rain.  The sprinkles of rain were falling onto my hair, and I kicked around the puddles.

I always thought the smallest amount of rain was the most breathtaking thing.  And when I would see the small drops of water that would be stuck to the leaves, it would always amaze me.

My parents always told me that when I was little, I was always in love with the idea of nature.  And I still am.  As a seventeen year old, I'm still in love with the idea of it.

"Nessa! Hey wait up!"  I looked behind me to see my best friend, Jordan, running up catch up with me.

"Hey," I mumbled as she caught up to me, and I continued to admire the rain.

"Enjoying the rain?" Jordan asked and I simply nodded.

"You've always liked the rain you weirdo," She said with a laugh which caused me to laugh with her.

"Well I can't help it, it's just so beautiful," I said and she nodded.

"I agree," she said and I looked at her with a smile.

"So did you here about the new teacher today?" I heard her ask and I shook my head.

"I didn't, who's the new teacher?" I asked and she just shrugged.

"No one knows, he just started today and no one has said anything," she said and I nodded.

"Well at least we'll see who it is right now," I told her as we walked into the school.

"I hope if it's a guy, he's super cute, so then it would make that class less boring," I heard her say and I smiled at her while shaking my head.

"You've always been a slut," I said which caused us both to laugh.

"Well you know me, I'm just trying to be entertained," she said with a smirk and we laughed again while walking into our class.

We took our seats and the teacher wasn't here yet so we kept talking. Jordan was just going on and on about wanting the new teacher to be cute so she could stare at him all class.

Jordan and I are kind of very different people, she was more outgoing and didn't have a very long attention span. While I am just a reserved type of person who pays attention to everything.

When we were still in the middle of talking, a lady came into our class.

"Alright students, do you all have that assignment that I asked you to do over the break?" Asked the lady who I then realized was our 'old' music teacher.

"Um? Miss Frost? I thought you left the school?" I heard one of the boys ask.

"Well I am, but I'm still able to collect that assignment aren't I?" She said with an attitude.

Miss Frost was always a bitch to anyone and everyone. Even if someone would make an effort to do something nice for her, that person would end up leaving the class crying. Luckily she's leaving now so we won't have to deal her lame ass.

"Now did anyone do the assignment?" She asked and everyone except me didn't do the assignment.

I held up my paper and her eyes drifted off to me.

"Oh Ms. Garcia, now you have always been my favorite," she said while coming over to my desk and snatching the paper from my hand.

"Well you weren't mine," I quietly mumbled and the people around me started laughing.

"Well, all of you ungrateful little brats, I still have the power to fail you all!" She shouted at the class.

Then, she, all of the sudden, calmed her ass down as someone walked into the class. I looked up to see a tall muscular man with perfectly done brown hair. His eyes were a beautiful brown color, and I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Hello, I'm sorry I'm late," he paused and looked around the room, "my apologies but I guess I have the wrong class."

He began walking towards the door but Miss Frost called out to him, "Oh no Shawn you have the right class."

He turned back around and his face was the definition of perfection. He smiled at Miss Frost and his smile was everything. It was bright and genuine. And his voice was magical.

He then walked to the front of the class and Miss Frost introduced him.

"Everyone this is your new music teacher Mr. Mendes."

And suddenly, that's when my heart stopped.
