Falling For You

Chapter 16.

Vanessa P.O.V

I opened my eyes to see Shawn next to me.  I mumbled his name and I could feel his tears fall onto my hand. 

"Vanessa," I heard him say and I opened my eyes a little wider. 

It took time for my vision to focus, and I didn't know where I was.  I looked around in the hospital room and back at Shawn.

"W-what happened?" I mumbled and moved my hand away from his to hold my head.

"You don't remember?" He asked and I slowly shook my head as a response.

"You were in a car accident, and I-I didn't know if you were going to make it," he mumbled and took my hand again.

"But I did," I whispered and lightly squeezed his hand.

"I know you did, and I'm so sorry," he said and looked down at our hands.

"For what?" I asked and used my other hand to caress his face.

"All of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't text you," he said and I shook my head.

"Hey, baby look at me.  I'm fine aren't I?  Don't blame yourself for this," I told him and he shook his head.

"But I am.  It's been hell without you for the past week," he said and I tried making eye contact with him.

"But I'm here now, so don't worry, I'm not going anywhere now.  I promise," I whispered and he nodded.

"I just, I just didn't want to lose you," he mumbled and buried his face in our intertwined hands.

"And you're not, I love you too much to leave you," I said and brought his face back up to mine.

"I love you too Ness," he whispered and I felt our lips connect.

We pulled away once we heard a knock on the door. 

"Sorry to interrupt, but I just thought I would check on Ms. Garcia," I looked up to see a doctor walk in and I felt Shawn back away from me.

"Of course," Shawn said and got up to sit in the other chairs.

The doctor walked up to me and checks my eyes, ears, and other medical stuff that I don't know what to call. 

"Well Ms. Garcia it seems like you are able to be released as early as tomorrow morning.  You know, you are really lucky," he said and I nodded.

After that, he walked out and closed the door so that Shawn and I were alone.

"How's my mom?" I asked and Shawn looked down at his hands.

"I'm sure she's fine, she left though when we heard you were going to be okay.  She said she would be back, but as you can tell, she isn't," he said and I nodded.

"And Jordan?" I questioned and he smiled.

"She's alright, she left this morning to go to school.  She's been coming everyday," he said and I smiled.

"And you?" I asked wanting to know how he's been dealing with all of this.

"I'm okay now.  I never left," he said and I nodded.

"Well good.  I never want you to," I said and a grin skimmed across his face.

Then, he got up from the car and slowly walked over to me and kissed the top of my head.

"I would never leave you," he whispered and I smiled.

"Promise?" I asked and he nodded.

"Promised," he said with assurance and I scooted over in the bed to make room for him.

He crawled in and I rested my head and his chest.

"I love you Shawn," I whispered before dozing off to sleep.

"I love you too Ness," I heard him mumbled before completely falling asleep.
