El

Waking up safe and sound in the comfort of my new bed was the best feeling on the planet. Even just days being away from Mike hurts. But it's all done. The Brenners are done once and for all.

I woke up and began walking up the stairs. It was unusual not seeing Mike the second I woke up.

As soon as I placed my foot onto the first step, the basement door upstairs opened. Mike was already ready and he came down with a plate of Eggos and some orange juice. I stepped off of the stairs and stood there. Mike is awesome.

He smiled and placed the plate of Eggos down on the table by the couch.

"Good morning," he greeted, wrapping his hands around me.

"Morning," I said back.

I sat down by the couch and gobbled up my Eggos. Mike was fixing up some things on his desk and he ran around the room, straightening up somethings.

"What are you doing?" I asked, my mouth full of food.

"Cleaning. I kinda had a mental breakdown when you left and kinda trashed this room up. It's a little messy."

I looked at him with a surprised face. The place was cleaner than when I left.

"What? It was a tiny mental breakdown," he fought.

"Mike?" I sarcastically asked.

"Fine. It gives me a better reason to be down here with you, happy?" He smiled.

"Very," I replied, patting the space next to me on the couch. He came by me and rested his hand above my shoulder, like always.

I finished up the last of my Eggo and quaffed down the cup of orange juice. I laid back into Mike's arm and began playing with his hair.

"EW! What did you put in you're hair?" I screeched.

"Gel."

"The same kind you put on PB&J sandwiches?!!" I've never sounded more confused.

"No! I put it in my hair everyday, it's supposed to make your hair fluffy and soft," he replied.

"Ohh. So that's why your hair is always really fluffy."

Mike nodded his head. We sat for a couple more minutes just talking. He checked the time and it read 10:30.

"Wait. Didn't you come downstairs at 9?" I realized.

"Oh whoops." He said and we started laughing.

I could spend days talking to Mike and still believe it was only a couple minutes. Anyway, after having a beautiful conversation with Mike, I darted up the stairs and got ready for the day.

Mike

School's starting again tomorrow. Ugh, I wish school was just six hours of science. I'd wake up so much happier and earlier if it was.

Nancy came down the stairs and to the living room where I was sitting. El was still getting ready, taking much longer now because of her few inches of stunning hair.

"Hey Mike," she said, sitting down beside.

"Hey Nance!" I stopped and turned to her. "Can I ask for a favor? "

"Depends what it is," she told me, turning on the tv.

"Okay so El's gonna be starting school tomorrow with me and the guys. Mom already enrolled  her and did all that boring stuff, but El doesn't have school supplies and I was wondering if we can go to-"

"Allowing me to shop for El is a gift, not a favor," she smiled. "You wanna go to Walmart in a bit?"

"Thanks so much! And ya, awesome," I thanked.

El came down the stairs wearing a bright blue shirt and some black jeans. Her little amount of hair was clipped back in a small bedazzled pin.

I stood there, jaw literally touching the floor. He looked absolutely beautiful.

"Hey," El said, waving her hand in front of my face. "You okay there?"

I snapped out of my trance. "Ya, ya I'm good." I felt my face getting red. I kissed her three times, but I still get blown away and nervous when she enters my eyes.

"Anyway," I said, changing the subject. "I asked Nancy if she would take us shopping for your school supplies and she said yes. She's waiting in the car right now."

"OH YAY!" she jumped up. I've never seen someone so excited for something school related.

We piled into Nancy's car and began driving to Walmart. Once we entered, Nancy directed us towards the supply section. El's mouth gaped at sight of the galaxy themed backpacks and the pencil cases with the nerd emoji on them. She's a science geek just like me.

That's why she's perfect.
