Secret Admirer

Chapter 1: Prologue

Two years of being in love with a person who doesn't even know about it.

Two years of keeping my crush secret from my friends.

Two years of blaming myself for being too shy.

I need to change myself. This is my last chance. After this year, my crush is leaving and he will be moving to England. I need to do something now or else I will definitely lose him.

"Anna?"

"Uh? Yes." I mumble.

I look up and there she is. The person I trust the most. The person I can always count on. Ella my best friend of all time!

"Ella!" I scream and giggle as my smile grows.

"Your mom called me and asked me to come over because you have acted a bit strange today ... So ... I'm here. Tell me. What's up?" Ella asks as she studies me.

"Nothing really I promise. It's nothing important." I look down afraid to meet Ella's gaze.

"Oh, come on! Since when do Anna doesn't want to talk to me about stuff. You know you can count on me and that I'm always there for you. Remember. I promise. I won't tell your mother either." Ella laughs.

"I know!" I meet Ella's gaze.

"So? Tell me!"

"Okay. It's just that ... I ... I'm disappointed in myself." I speak, but my voice is shaking.

"Anna? More details!" Ella sighs and gives me a little smile.

"I admire how you can be so calm and flirty around guys... " I say and I can feel how my whole body is moving slightly.

"Anna! Calm down. Stop shaking. If I've understood your situation correctly, you are dealing with a crush problem?" Ella pats me on back.

A few minutes went by and no one speaks.

I clear my throat and try to make an attempt to talk.

 "Yes. A crush problem since at least two years back in time."

Ella is astounding, her mouth is wide open and her eyes are as big as a balloon.

"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but now I really need your help. This ... Uh ... Guy. Is leaving after this school year and I'm too shy to even try to talk to him."

Ella still doesn't respond. She just stares at me. It starts to get creepy, honestly!

"Can you please forgive me?" I make a puppy face.

Ella's starts to smile a little bit, but then she quickly goes back to her previous frosty and ice cold face. I have never seen her like this before.

 "Anna! Of course, I forgive you, but why did you keep it as a secret for me for two years? I thought you trusted me? I thought we told each other everything, but I guess I was wrong about that." she sighs and she is still not giving me a tiny smile at all. It is like she doesn't even know how to smile.

"At least you are the first person I've told about my, uh ... Crush thing problem!" I smile.

Ella doesn't return my smile this time either.

"Look, Ella! Since you know me better than anyone you have to understand that this is not easy for me. I'm a shy girl and I'm begging you to help me. I want this guy to be mine." 

"Who is it?" Ella's solid voice speaks.

"I like E-Ethan."

"Ethan! Okay. I get it. You need my help. I will help you IF you promise not to keep this kind of secrets from me!" Ella says as she makes an attempt to smile. The smile isn't especially good but at least it's better than frosty face.

"Deal!" I return her smile.
