Now is the time. Ask if I can sit next to Ethan.
Slowly breathe in.
Slowly breathe out.Talk and show my cutest smile.
"H-Hi Ethan!" I wave towards him with a huge smile.
OMG. What if that was a weird smile. Oh yeah. Ella's advice was to don't over analyze every situation and don't criticize myself.
"Hello, Anna!" Ethan smiles.
Good. Now you have his attention.I keep smiling as I walk towards his seat at the back of the classroom.
"So, um ... Does someone sit next to you?" I keep smiling, showing my perfect, white, straight teeth that I got after I had a bracelet for two years.
"Not right now. I think my friends will come soon, but feel free to sit down if you would like." Ethan speaks with his dark voice.
Don't blush. Just sit down Anna!
"T-tha. Um. I mean. Um. Thanks!" I blush.
I pull out the oak wooden chair."Aah!" I scream.
The whole class laughs at me, but I can't see my best friend Ella anywhere. She always helps me in these situations."What happened?" Ethan asks as he reaches his hand towards me.
"Um. Nothing. I ... I'm just clumsy. Sorry!" I take his hand and sit down properly.
"It's nothing to apologize for. Just be more careful alright?" Ethan grin at me.
Someone opens the classroom door."Good morning class 9!" Mr. Gory shouts.
"Good morning Mr. Gory!" Our class responds.
"Is everyone here today?" Mr. Gory speaks in his British accent.
"I haven't seen Ella!" Ethan shouts.
"Have anyone seen Miss Ella?" Mr. Gory continues speaking."I saw her before the class was going to start, but I don't know where she went after that!" I shout.
"Alright. Well. She will probably show up late, so I will just assume she's late for this class." Mr. Gory says."Alright, class 9! Start to work on your math books. Same chapter as yesterday. If any of you forgot your stuff at home and have nothing to work with today, then I'll give you detention!" Mr. Gory says as he grins.
Ugh. I don't want detention. I have never forgotten my stuff before. How could I be so stupid to forget my stuff? Oh, right. I was probably thinking of how awesome Ethan looks.
"Are you alright?" Ethan asks."What? Me?" I respond surprised.
"You seem a bit sleepy." Ethan smiles.
"No. I ... um. It's nothing." I smile nervously back.
"Want to borrow my book or do you want detention instead?" Ethan teases me.
I nod towards him and he then gives me some paper from his workbook so I can work.
The door opens again.I look up.
"Hello, FRIENDS!" Ella screams as she walks in.
"Young lady. If you dare to be late, then don't interrupt the class!" Mr. Gory stares at Ella.
Mr. Gory's accent in British is so funny. I don't have anything against British people, I promise. I just like the way they talk. Like "Do you want a cup of tea darlings".
I get an image of an old lady serving tea with scones to her husband's friends. The lady wears a checkered skirt and ... I can't hold it in anymore. I start giggling while thinking of my own crazy thoughts about an English lady.
Mr. Gory gives me a disrespectful gaze."Sorry, Mr. Gory!" Ella apologizes.
After knowing Ella since we were kids, I know the excuse is fake.
I stare towards Ella.
Ella walks towards me.
"See I knew you could talk to him. Now flirt with him. Take your fingers and play with your hair while you look like a princess who needs rescuing alright?" Ella whispers, then she walks away to a free spot in the middle of the classroom before Mr. Gory notices anything.
I search for eye contact with Ella and then with my mouth I mime the word NO.
Ella responds to me by rolling her eyes and she mimes back the word YES.
