I open my eyes, blinking in the sun. My cheek is resting against the top of Bard's head, and I sit up, yawning. I can't believe I had fallen asleep!

I gently shake Bard's shoulder, and his eyes open almost immediately. He looks up at the sky and then at me. "Why didn't you wake me sooner?" he says. "We've lost valuable time!"

"I'm sorry, but you looked so tired, I just couldn't wake you up. And then.. I fell asleep too.." A faint blush rises up in my cheeks.

Suddenly Bard smiles. "I know. I woke up and saw you were asleep. I just didn't wake you up."

"Oh. I didn't mean to."

"Don't worry."

We both take a tiny sip of water and eat another strip of fish. I roll up my blanket and put it back into my pack.

Bard touches the ground with his hand. "How is this dry?"

"A little bit of Elvish magic," I say, brushing past him and stepping out into the snow. "Are you coming?"
