Broken Solitude [Lapidot]

Confessions..?

-Peridot's POV-

Jeez... what happened?

All I remember is going to the bathroom and then... oh my stars! Am I dead?!

At that thought, my eyes just suddenly open and I jerk upwards

Looking around I see that I'm on Lapis' couch, but that's not all, she's also sleeping on it, my head was on her lap

Realizing this I start to feel my face heating up

Behind me I hear Lapis stirring from her sleep

"Mhmm, Peri..? Peri!" She sees me and immediately tackle hugs me, which might I add just shows what a grip she has

"Im so sorry! We thought it would be funny to pull a prank on you but then you got hurt!"

I wanted to respond, but I can't with her death grip

"L-Lapis... can't breath..." I say as I tap her arm

She let's go and I gasp for air

"S-sorry..."

Pulling back, I see Lapis has a few dry tear marks that fell a while ago

"It's alright... where's everyone else?"

"Well its gotten a little late, so they went home after we took care of you, it's currently 5pm"

"Well sounds about time I head home too"

"Alrighty"

-The following monday-

Okay! This time, I'll try again at telling her how I feel!

It may be bad if she doesn't feel the same but I should tell her anyways!

Besides... I already bought a blue rose for her...

During lunch I walk towards our usual spot, ready to give her the rose when I hear an unfamiliar voice

"So, you're Lapis, right?" The voice asks

"Y-yeah! I'm Lapis"

"Cool, I'm jake, but you may already know that"

"Y-yeah I do"

"Well in that case, would you like to go on a date with me?"

"I would love to!"

"Just a quick question, do you hang out with the weirdo? The girl with the messy blond hair, glasses?"

"W-what? Oh her? No, we just happened to bump into each other occasionally"

"Cool, I'll cya at the cafe nearby at 6, bye!" And with that he rolled off"

What... Did she... she did! She rejected being friends with me to go on a DATE with Jake!

I can't believe this... just when I put my trust in another, I just get back stabbed...

I unconsciously walk around the corner and Lapis sees me

-Lapis' POV-

I can't believe this! He asked me out on a date!

This is the best day ever!

Looking to my right I see Peridot coming around the corner

"Peri!" I call out to her

She jumps at the call and she turns to me, but her head lowered, facing the floor

"You won't believe what just happened! Jake just asked me out on a date! Can you believe it?!" I couldn't help but be excited!

But Peridot on the other hand, looked the exact opposite, with her arms trembling, and legs shaking

"Must be nice huh..? To be asked out by your crush, though it us to be so great, that you forget about your friends!"

I step back at her outlast, her head rises to face me, tears falling down her face

"I guess getting a date with him is so important that you have to say that you aren't friends with me!" After that she throws a blue rose at me and I catch it

"Take it! I dont care anymore, don't talk to me anymore, we aren't friends..."

And with that she walks off, leaving a trail of tears

Looking down I look at the blue rose and realize what it meant

"Sounds like hell let loose"

Turning around I see the gang, and Pearl, smacking Amethyst in the back of the head for saying that, turned back to and joined in on the group stare

What have I done?!
