Broken Solitude [Lapidot]

Heart Broken

-Peridot's POV-

I know I shouldn't feel this bad...

It's late at night, I couldn't sleep, not with these thoughts running through my head

I was going to tell her, to tell Lapis how I felt... but she has a crush on a boy

I had a feeling this would've happened, out of the many outcomes that could've happened

But this one is one of the more painful outcomes, one of the worst outcomes

Why though, even when I accepted this as one of the outcomes, why does it still feel like my heart has been torn into a million pieces?

-Lapis' POV-

I can't sleep...

I can't sleep because I can't wrap my head around why Peridot is acting like this

I tried to text and call her but she doesn't respond

Why Peridot? Why are you like this?

What were you going to say?

-The next day-

I walk through the halls of the school, making my way to my first class, when suddenly I see Peridot leaving her locker

"Peridot! I'm so glad to have run into you here! I wanted to ask, what were you going to say to me yesterday?"

"It's nothing important..." She says, not turning towards me

I grab her shoulder and turn her towards me

"Peridot, tell me what's... wrong..." mid way of talking I notice Peridot's state

She has tear streaks on her face, has she been crying? Her hair was in a mess, well more of a mess than usual, but most importantly was her eyes, they were red and puffy, and it almost looks lifeless, like the sparkle in her eyes are gone

She only escapes my grasp and turns around

"I told you Lapis, it's nothing" and with that she headed off to class

-Lunch-

I walked over to where the others are and sat down with them and talked

"Hey, Lapis?"

"Yeah Jasper?"

"I wanted to ask you, what's up with Peridot?"

"I don't know myself..."

"Well what happened between you two yesterday?" Once she said that, all eyes were on me

"Well, she said she wanted to say something to me, but midway of talking I shushed her because I was looking at Jake, when I may have said out loud I like him. After that she left and she won't talk to me"

Looking around I noticed Jasper had the most worried face

"What's wrong Jasper?"

"I think I know why Peridot is acting like this"

"Why?"

"The kid has a crush on you"

"W-what?!"

Yup, I remember this from elementary school

-Two years ago at Homeworld Elementary-

-3rd person POV-

Peridot was with her friend, Ace

They were playing around during recess when Peridot spoke up

"H-hey! Ace!"

"Yea Per?"

"I wanted to say something to you"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Okay... so you're basically my only friend, but you're a great friend and..."

"And?"

"And I may have a slight crush on you..."

"... seriously?"

"W-what?"

"Seriosuly Peridot? In what way did you think I'd like you? I'm not like you, I'm not into girls Peridot"

"B-but-"

"I can't be seen hanging around someone like you, goodbye Peridot"

"WAIT!" And then Peridot tripped

Little did she know, Jasper was close by, she saw and heard what happened

-Lapis' POV-

"And that's what happened. Ever since then, she refused to make another friend, because she was worried to make another friend that she would fall for and get as heartbroken as before"

Oh no... Peridot! I did this to her! I made her relive the past!
