Broken Solitude [Lapidot]

Stars In Our Eyes

I straight up got this chapter idea by 5 am, looking at my poster and seeing the moon from here

-Lapis' POV-

After some time of chatting with Peridot, well mostly me talking and her responding a tiny bit, I've gotten a decent flow between me and her

It was getting late though so the cafe would have to close at some point, but I want to show Peridot something

-Peridot's POV-

"Hey, Peridot! I wanna show you something!"

"And what would that be?"

"It's a surprise!"

"I don't like the sound of this..."

"Oh come on Ms. Doubty McDoubter  Face, pleaaaase" She says with puppy eyes, which are hard to resist

"Ugh... fine" I can't believe I'm doing this

"Yaay! Come on!"

We start walking, to where I don't know but Lapis sure seems excited for it

After some time we reach the base of a hill with a lighthouse on top and Lapis already breaks for the top of the hill

I shortly follow after her and once I make it to the top I see her standing in the middle of the large patch of grass

"We're here!' She exclaims to me

"Okay? So what is it you wanted to show me?"

"Look around!" I just look to me left and right and see nothing, so I just glare at her

"There's nothing around..." she just giggles at my response

"Not like that Peridot! Look, around!" She turns my head to behind me and I see the most beautiful sight

I must admit it was a sight to see

From the ground there are still some lights lit that glow in the dark embrace of the night, and the moon, shining it's light down on the town, as well as the ocean, reflecting the light (Refer to the chapter picture)

Looking up is another thing, stars, millions of stars, glowing, dancing in the sky, surrounding the largest light in the sky, the moon

This was all so amazing to see and I just kept spinning, looking at the area around me until I fall down, with my back on the grass

Lapis giggles at me and lays down, opposite of me

"So, I take it you liked the surprise?"

"I will admit, the view was terrific, you really outdone yourself"

"Well that's good"

After some time of relaxing, she gets up and stretches out a hand towards me to help me up

Taking the hand, I get up and we walk back down the hill

"Well that was fun! Hope we can do it again some time! Cya Peridot!"

"Bye!"

And with that she was gone

She was nice, and showed me something amazing...

Maybe it won't be so bad here
