Broken Solitude [Lapidot]

Upon The Hill

-Lapis' POV-

Its been weeks now since I last talked to Peridot and I have to say it was the most excruciating weeks I've been through

I miss her, I miss everything about her

How she talks, how she acts when she gets just a little mad when teased, when she shows her nerdy side

Its reached that point where even when I'm on a date with Jake I can't seem to take Peridot off my mind

I want her back, I need her back, not as a friend, because I now realize what I'm feeling

I've fallen in love with Peridot, and it hurts not to be with her

And it hurts even more that I know it's my fault that things are like this now

And now I'm determined to fix things

-Some time at night-
-Peridot's POV-

I take a stroll around town, even though I try to force her out of my mind, I can't shake away Lapis

One time I saw her and that Jake on date and I felt anger and sadness burn inside me

A part of me wishes I was on a date with her, with Lapis, but I know that it's impossible

I've already taken the path of forgetting her, so there's no way she'd go for me now

With pent up rage I kick a rock down the road shouting "DAMN IT!"

Right then I hear a familiar voice, a voice that brings me joy yet fear

"Peridot?"

I slowly turn around to see Lapis who had a look on her face

"Peridot, it's me, Lapis!"

"No... stay away from me..."

She starts walking towards me, she can't do this!

"Peridot! Talk to me!"

"No! Never!"

I shout while I walk backwards away from her

"Peridot!"

I turn around and sprint away from her

As I run I turn my head to see behind me and I see Lapis chasing me

"Go away!"

"Not until you talk to me Peri!"

We keep this up until we start running up a hill

I don't know where we are exactly but all I know is that I need to run from her

Once we reach the top my legs give up and I collapse onto the grass

Lapis reaches the top and she also collapses

"Peridot...hah... why... why won't you...hah... talk to me?"

I only remain silent, or as silent as someone trying to catch their breath can be

I hear movement but my eyes are shut in exhaustion

Soon I feel two hands on my head and... water?

I open my eyes too see Lapis, holding my head in her hands and the most painful sight, she's crying

"Peridot... please... talk to me, it hurts so much that someone I  care so much about refuse to speak to me because of what I've done"

I could only stay where I am and listen to her

"I kept wondering, why? Why does it hurt so much? But, I see why now"

She opens her eyes to look at me

"Because I love you Peridot"

By the time I realize what she said, she had already lowered her lips onto mine

Seconds, that felt like hours, pass and she parts from me and lies down on the grass beside me

Looking around I see that the hill we're on is the same one we we became friends on

"Peridot"

I look to my side to see Lapis looking at me

And I finally respond

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry..."

"I'm sorry too, for ignoring you this while time"

"Do you... do you still have any feelings for me Peri?"

"Yeah, I do"

She let's outs a breath and turns towards the sky

"I'm glad"

It was upon the hill, where we had stars in our eyes, that we expressed our love for each other
