  He was always the smart one. The one everyone thought was a genius. Best friends with Naruto and didn't give a care in the world.

  Today you were walking around and found a good place to rest. With Naruto out trying to bring back Sasuke you barley had time to spend relaxing. All because of Sasuke, shit went bad. Well kind of. You were so comfortable you didn't notice you fell asleep.

  When you woke up you stared at the night sky and for some reason you decided to quickly look left. When you did, your eyes landed on him. He is laying next to you. He is sleeping next to you and he is your crush. You quickly looked right and you are a blushing mess. With your body turned right you failed to notice that he is awake.

"Troublesome woman. Why are you not facing me?" He asks a little annoyed. 

"Because I don't want to," you say in a feisty tone. He just scared the crap out of you.

"Huh?" He asks. Suddenly you feel his arms wrap around your waist and he pulls you against his chest. His breath tickles the back of your neck and you arch your back which allows him to settle his head on your shoulder.

"What are you doing Shika?" You giggle lightly.

"You're my pillow. Pillows don't talk," he grumbles.

"I'm not a pillow Shika," you laugh.

"Tsk troublesome woman," he mumbles. You fall back asleep in Shikamaru's arms. He plays with your hair as you sleep comfortably in his arms.

   When you wake up Shikamaru was holding you in his arms as he walked.  You grab onto his shirt and he holds you gently.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

"I fell asleep under that tree and now I'm in your arms," you say. "Just shock."

"I didn't mean to scare you," he admits.

"Where are we going?" You ask.

"My house," he says. "Ino and Choji want to play some games."

"Oh sounds like fun!" You exclaim.

  He arrives at his house and he sets you down on the ground. He then opens the door and leads you inside. You follow him to his room and he gestures you to sit on his bed. You sit down on his bed and you watch as he pulls his shirt off of him and he discards it to his basket.

"Damn," you mutter as you stare at his abs.

"What?" He asks looking at you. You turn your head away and stare at the floor. You feel the heat rising to your cheeks and you then hear Shikamaru walking over to you.

"Hm?" He then places his hand on your cheek, feeling your growing blush.

"Wow you must really think I'm hot or something," he teases.

"Shut up you pineapple," you snap.

"Shikamaru we're hear!" Ino's voice yells throughout the house. Shikamaru grabs a shirt and throws it on and he grabs your hand and makes you come with him. He brings you to the livingroom and he sees his teammates.

"Oh hey Y/N," Choji greets you as you walk in the livingroom.

"Hey guys," you reply sweetly.

"Y/N lets play chess!" Ino exclaims.

"Okay!" You agree as you let go of Shikamaru's hand. You follow her over to the table and she sets up the board.  You sit down and Shikamaru sits next to you. Strangely, he sets his head on your shoulder and he watches you play against Ino.

  You ended up winning three out of five matches. You then played Choji which was an even match. Lastly you played Shikamaru which was a lost cause as soon as it started. He won five matches and you grumbled about losing. Then the others played each other and you didn't pay attention at who won.

  Finally Shikamaru challenger you to a game of shogi. He of course is at an advantage since he is extremely skilled at the game and you are very new at the game. Not only that but the only person known to be able to defeat him is his father.

  Somehow after hours of undividing attention to the game you somehow managed to defeat him. You stood aback in shock as your eyes widened. Ino stood behind you with her jaw dropped to the floor.

"There's no way this is possible," she states.

"This isn't possible," Shikamaru mutters.

"You beat him!" Choji exclaims.

"Yes I beat you!" You exclaim after your shock leaves you. You started to dance around in joy, but are rudely  interrupted by Shikamaru grabbing your hand. He drags you to his room and he gives you a death stare.

"How the hell did you defeat me?" He demands like a child.

"I don't know okay!" You say. He then turns away from you and he starts to walk away but suddenly stops.

"From now on we're rivals and you best not be friends with me," he growls. He is about to open the door when you cut him off.

"Shikamaru no! Please I didn't mean to defeat you I'm so sorry please don't leave!" You beg while back-hugging him. Tears begin to stream down your face as your hands squeeze his body closer to you. "Please. . . ."

"Troublesome woman," he says and then looks at you with a perfect smirk. "Seems my plan worked."

"Huh?" You let go of him and he then turns around and looks into your eyes.

"Look, this was my plan. I let you defeat me because. . . ," he holds your sides and you feel starstruck and pissed at the same time.

"Shikamaru wh-" he then cups your face and silences you with a kiss. You kiss back after a moment of realization. His sweet, tender, soft lips collided with your making you fall weak in the knees. The amount of passion sealed within the kiss makes you numb. His love is easy to tell.  When he pulls back he still has his smirk on his face.

"Y/N be mine. I like playing these games with you," he smirks even further.

"I'll smack that smirk off your face," you growl with a vein popping out of your head. Shikamaru then pulls you into a loving hug and his head rests on top your head. You can hear his heart beating rapidly through his shirt.

"Troublesome woman," he says as he kisses your head. He loves these games he plays with you.
