Several Years After The Fall, North America, The Mojave Desert,

Somewhere Along The Colorado River

"Humasereha!?!!" Gadreel yelled, swiftly removing the head of an attacking demon with his sword. "Where are you?"

"I am here, Mustamho!" the medicine man shouted over the din of battle. The youthful shaman ran through the tumultuous fighting erupting throughout the village. He ducked a fist and continued stumbling toward the Watcher who he could see was neck deep in the bloody melee. Lightning cracked in the dark skies overhead as the young man raced forward through the rain and violence. Rivers of red liquid, intermixed with the mud of the battlefield oozed between his toes with each step.

"We need you to end this or Bezliel is going to destroy us all!" the Watcher yelled, swatting down another painted warrior and grabbing his spear. "Look out! Behind you!"

Humaserha dove out of the way as the spear flew toward him, ultimately burying itself in the demonic mark of an enemy warrior's chest.

"Do it, now! I will protect you!" Gadreel said, dispatching two more demons with blood in their eyes.

"Yes, Mustamho!" Humaserha shouted and raised his hands into the air. Thunder rumbled as the clouds above the battle begin to churn like a coiling snake. Lightning crashed around Gadreel and the medicine man; arcs of electricity bouncing through the combatants, striking Bezaliel's demons.

Wind gusts blew through the village, knocking over several animal skin covered huts. Women clutched their screaming children and cried out in fear as the storm raged around them. Thunder boomed as large blue bolts of electricity exploded into the ground, sending handfuls of invading enemy warriors sailing into the sky.

Suddenly and without warning, the bolts became random, attacking even the brave Mojave warriors battling the Frog Woman's soldiers. Bright flashes incinerated innocent villagers.

"What are you doing...?" shouted Gadreel as he stopped fighting and turned his head just in time to witness the headless body of Humaserha fall forward and splash into the mud. The corpse twitched from the electricity draining from his body.

"Surrender, Gadreel, your shaman is dead. You have lost," Bezaliel said, holding a flaming sword in one hand and the head of Humaserha in the other. The din of battle reduced quickly, replaced by the sound of rain and thunder.

"Let these people go and I will give you my sword and my allegiance," Gadreel said with his face to the ground and shoulders drooping. "They are innocent and do not deserve this. They have been through enough. Your quarrel is with me, Bezaliel and I will ask no more of them."

The witch produced a nasty smile and lifted the medicine man's head into the air. "Tribes of the Mojave, hear me! Lay down your weapons and behold, Humasereha is dead! I have killed this snake of a man to save you from destruction..."

Gadreel glared at Bezaliel. "You lie! He..."

"Silence, or I will kill them all!" Bezaliel hissed.

The Watcher bowed his head in defeat.

"Mustamho commands you to leave this place! Take your lives and go, never to return!" Bezaliel returned her attention to Gadreel. "Now, bow before me, Gadreel. Bow before me to save your precious humans and swear your allegiance to the spirit of Samael!"
