"Fool!" Holok roared as Dustyn approached. With a laugh, the undulating golden cloud moved to intercept the demonic angel. Holok churned toward Dustyn threatening to envelop him. From the chariot, Michael pointed over at Dustyn with the tip of his sword. "Here is our chance, Angel! Dustyn has Holok's attention!"
"Michael! Look out!" Angel shouted as a large section of Holok's cloud ejected high above them from the opposite side, promising to come crashing down on the chariot.
Michael grabbed Angel around the waist. "Hang on to me!"
Angel nodded as the Archangel picked her up. He crouched momentarily, and then the pair shot vertically away from the flaming chariot and their impending doom. "Oh no..." Angel said sadly and closed her eyes. The former Joan of Arc could hear the frightened whinnies of the horses echoing from below her as Holok's cloud consumed them and the chariot.
Hundreds of Grigori burst from Holok's body as Michael and Angel streaked across space, nearing Holok's center. Michael swatted them away as they approached, but the golden creatures' numbers were increasing with each meter the pair progressed. "There's too many, Angel!" Michael shouted. "I don't know if we can make it!"
"Now it's your turn to hang on to me, Archangel!" Angel shot back.
"We're going too fast to teleport!"
"Trust me, Michael...I've gotten pretty good at this!"
Michael nodded and the duo blipped from view to the surprise of the Grigori horde.

"They're gone, I tell ya'!" Danny said looking up at Raphael, his gaze affixed on the golden cloud ahead of them. "They just disappeared...all of 'em! Dustyn got swamped by a golden wave and Angel...well, Angel and 'em just poofed!"
"Do not fear, warlord, Michael knows what he is doing."
"Oh, I believe in that ol' Archangel, too, but Holok's been around for a while hisself and has billions of experiences to draw on. He ain't stupid!"
"Danny's right," Carter said in agreement. "We really don't know what we're going to find when we get there. If Holok's already killed Dustyn, Michael, and Angel...well..."
Louisa shook her head in annoyance. "You guys are a bunch of damn pessimists! In the short time I've been around you guys, I've seen a lot and we've always managed to pull things out. We shouldn't start doubting our friends now!"
Zachariel looked down at Louisa. "Well said, Ms. Oakley."
"Jiminez."
"I do apologize, Ms. Jiminez,"
"It's no problem; I just don't remember any of that life. But this life, this one that I remember, it's been damn full of excitement since Michael rescued me. Who else gets to say they got to shoot an energy rifle at evil spirits while fighting some mutated angel in outer space? Not Annie Oakley..."
"You're too danged funny, Louisa," Danny said with a snort. "And what you're sayin', ain't nothing but the truth!"
"Okay guys, looks like playtime is over," Carter interrupted. "...Holok knows we're here! Watch out!"
As Carter spoke, a wall of gold formed in front of the squad of flying angels and their Original Soul passengers.
"Battle Angels! Cover!" Azazel shouted. The Archangel turned his back to the golden barrier and wrapped his wings around his body and Carter. "Hold on, human!"
