Nowaki's POV:

A few days after seeing that Zoe girl again, Hiro-san and I had already became foster parents....temporarily anyway. To be honest, I never thought Hiro-san would agree. But, I'm glad he did.

"Oi. What's with that smile?"

I'm brought out of my thoughts by Hiro-san asking me that. I turn in my seat and look over at him, still smiling.

"Ah, I'm just happy that we're going to choose a foster kid together." I say. He raises an eyebrow at me, then looks away.

"Yeah...I'm happy too." He whispers. My eyes widen a little bit, but then my face melts back into a smile. I'm glad he's happy as well.

I was going to put my hand on his, but knowing Hiro-san, he would be mad if I did that in front of people on this train. So, I settled for just a closed eyed smile and sat back into my seat on the crowed train.

Zoe's POV:

As I gaze out of the art rooms' window, I frown a bit. Something's going to happen today, I can feel it. I just don't know if it's a good thing , or a bad thing.

I sigh and close my eyes, resting my head against the glass. Oh well. Whatever happens, happens. Not much surprises me anymore.

"Zoe!"

I hear Ms. Ann's voice call out my name from down the hall, but I don't respond to it. She knows where I am.

"Zoe?"

I hear the door open and I look over to see a red faced Ms. Ann. Her usual neat bun is a little ruffled and she's breathing hard as she walks toward me. I raise an eyebrow at her. What is her problem? She stops in front of me and starts to wave her hands excitedly.

"Come on, Zoe! There is a couple coming today and they're going to pick someone to become their foster child for a while!" She tries to grab my arm, but I move it out of the way and look up at her.

"Uh, Zoe dear, didn't you hear me? I said a couple is coming today!" She says, a little nervous. I blink up at her.

"So?" I ask. She looks shocked.

"So?! That means they're looking for a foster child! Don't you want to get ready?"

I stare at her for a second, then turn my head back to the window and close my eyes.

"Even if they come, what makes you think they will choose me?" I ask. I hear her let out a frustrated sigh.

"Why must you always look on the downside? There's a good chance you might get adopted!"

I shake my head. "Not everyone wants a teenager. Especially one like me."

I hear her huff in annoyance and then her footsteps as she walks toward the door. "I don't know what to do with you." Then, she's gone.

I take a deep breath and let it out slowly as I am once again alone. I was telling the truth, not everyone wants a teenager. On top of that, no one would want a teenager like me. I sigh again. Kind to think of it, my own father didn't want me. Not even a little bit.

And anyone who has objections to that, the proof is on my back.

I cross my legs and fold my arms, leaning back against the window frame, letting the heat of the suns rays and the coolness of the pre-summers wind hit my face.
