Zoe's POV:
I breath heavily as walk down the dark hallway. How the hell did I end up here? Is this the bottom of the boat? Must be since there's nothing, but drains and polls down here. And it's freezing too.
I shiver from the cold and stop walking. I take a deep breath and lean against the wall, siding down until I'm in a crouch position. My feet are killing me!
I lift my head up a bit and look to my left and then to my right, seeing nothing down either of them. My only source of light are little lanterns hanging from the ceiling a few paces from each other. And the occasional cold steam that keeps blowing in my face.
I cross my arms, tucking my hands on the side of me and lowering my head again. I feel so stupid. Why did I have to run away? Why did I yell at him, instead of telling Hiroki the truth? I feel tears sting my eyes and I close them, letting them fall as I hold in a sob.
I know why.
It's because I'm scared of being left behind again. I didn't want them to throw me away like my old friends did. Or my parents.
And Kazu.
I sniffle and press my forehead to my knees, making myself into a tiny ball. I'll just die here. Yeah, that would be better. If I just die. Then no one will be able to hurt me. I won't be able to deal with all this pain.
I'm pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of footsteps running towards me. My head snaps up and too the left of me, just as a dark figure comes to a stop just a few feet away. My vision is blurred a little, but when the figure steps into the light and I see his bleached blonde hair, I know I'm in trouble.
He inhales a few times before looking down at me. "There you are!" He reaches his hand out towards me. "The boss wants you back in one piece! So come with me, willingly-"
Whatever he's saying, I ignore it and slap his hand away. "Don't touch me!"
He glares at me and grabs my arms. I struggle to break free, but my body is too weak to fight back. I clench my eyes shut and try even harder to just break free.
"LET GO OF ME! LET ME STAY HERE AND DIE!"
"ZOE!"
I suddenly feel the guy let go of my arms and I fall to the side, my head banging against one of the polls. I groan as my vision starts to go black.
I hear shuffling, then the feel of large, warm hands are under my head and on my shoulders. They start to move, shaking me a little.
"...Zoe!....stay.....for me....we're....get....here!" I hear a familiar deep voice say.
I try to open my eyes, but no matter what I did, the darkness took over. The last thing I see as my body looses consciousness are jet black hair and dark chocolate locks.
Nowaki's POV:
Hiro-san and I ended up at the bottom of the boat while looking for Zoe. I can tell he's getting more and more worried, as well as agitated. As we walk down the dark hallway, I glance over at him to see that his lips are in a tight line and his eyes are hard and dull. I give him a worried look and put my hand on his head. He looks up at me and I give him a sad smile.
"We'll find her, Hiro-san." I say to him gently.
He looks at me for a second, then turns away and looks straight, not replying. I sigh and grab his hand, squeezing it gently.
