Chapter Two-Two Days Left
Alice sat on the porch of the pack house and stared out into the open field of grass. A memory of her parents danced in her head.
"Jay, come get me!" Alice's mother laughed as she ran into the field.
Her father wasn't far behind, a grin spreading wide across his face.
"I'm right behind you, Lauren!" He called, chasing after her.
Alice's mother squeaked like a teenage girl and ran farther into the dark green grass. Her father was hot on her heels. In seconds her mother was tackled by her father and they rolled around, laughing.
Alice's father tickled her until she was laughing so hard her face was red.
"S-s-stop!" She cried, squirming underneath him.
Alice smiled a sad smile at the scene and looked beyond the field, into the forest. An ache filled her heart. Her parents had been dead for some time now.
Two more days until she could run. Two more days until she could walk into the waiting arms of her mate. Two more days.
Happiness filled her and she sighed in content.
"Ugh, get out of my chair!" An annoyingly familiar voice sneered and Alice turned to see Prissy.
"I was here first, go away." SHe told her as she scowled.
Alice was in no mood to mess with her right now, especially since she was happy.
"This is my seat, move," She demanded.
Reluctantly, Alice got up, not wanting to have the Alpha come out and see her causing problems. That'd make him less likely to let her go.
"Stupid, pup," Prissy sneered and plopped herself gracefully in the seat.
Alice narrowed her eyes at the blonde before going back into the house. She was so looking forward to leaving this place.
Alice went to the kitchen, grabbing a container of pineapple before heading to her little sister, Abby's, room.
She opened her door, finding her playing with her dolls that Alice had gotte her for her birthday a month ago.
"Alice," She beamed when she saw her.
Alice smiled, entering the room and closing the door behind her.
"Hey, Abby," She greeted her sister and she launched herself into Alice's arms.
"I've missed you," She said, burying her head into my shoulder.
I had made the Alpha angry a few days ago and he banned me from seeing her. I was able to see her today since he said I could earlier this morning.
"I brought you a treat." I smiled at her and she pulled away, jumping up and down.
She snatched the pineapple out of my hand and greedily shoved a piece in her mouth. I laughed as she looked at me innocently with chipmunk cheeks.
How was I going to be able to leave her and have her go to the Alpha? I'd have to take her with me but that was against the Alpha's rules. You and only you can leave to find your mate. If your a male, you must come back with your mate once you find her. If your a female then she usually goes to her mate's pack unless the Alpha says otherwise.
That's good and bad. Good because I'll be leaving the Alpha but bad because I'l be leaving Abby to the Alpha. My parents wouldn't like that. They told me before they were killed by Rogues to look out after Abby when they were gone. They said they didn't trust the Alpha. I agreed. The man was insane. What Alpha would have one of his She-Wolves kill his enemies?
I looked down at Abby, struggling with what I should do.
