Chapter Eight-Fate is Cruel
He stopped, starring at me with a blank expression.
I stood there, anger and disappointment flowing through me.
my mate.My Alpha, the one who's hurt me the most, is my mate.
"I won't have you as my mate." I shook my head and he growled, lowly.
"You're a monster," I whispered.
Did fate think this was some sick joke? How could they match me with such a heartless creature?
"An Alpha is supposed to care for the pack, not damage it." I stiffened when he took another step towards me.
He was battling his wolf on how to respond, I could see it in his eyes.
The room had gone quiet, only a few still talking. People knew something wasn't right.
"Alice, let me explain," He said, his voice was low and hard.
"I don't need some lousy excuse. You got what you wanted; a broken girl. Congratulations, I hope you're proud of yourself. I also hope you realize you just left me mateless for the rest of my life," I snarled, biting back the sob that wanted to come out.
It was silent now. No one spoke, the room was filled with tension.
I turned to the rest of the pack, not believing how they were just as heartless as the Alpha.
All they did was watch me break.
My body began to shake, fur sprouting on my skin. Before I shifted completely, I ran out the front door.
The crimson dress I was wearing shredded to pieces as my wolf took control.
Not only was I stuck here in this hell hole, but I had to be tortured everyday with seeing my mate, who I couldn't accept.
Fate really was cruel. They took my parents, they took my friends, they took my sister, and now, they took my happy ever after.
I had once dreamed of meeting my mate and he'd sweep me off my feet, confessing how he'd waited so long to find me. I guess that isn't going to happen. That fantasy was also when my parents were alive and everything was still ok.
I ran into the woods, desperate to get rid of the pain burning inside my chest. I let out a howl of agony and yearning.
Maybe one day, one day, I'd be reunited by my sister and could cope with being mateless.
It's short, I know. Please forgive me! Vote and tell me what you think of the story. Should I continue?
